"been looking at my stocking list"
Me too. I think some fruit and batteries and a screwdriver repair set for my glasses would be nice too. Maybe some cash and men's grooming kit would be nice too. But whatever you want to give is fine with me.
Oh. Your talking about fish. Sounds good to me. Just remember that a 10g tank is very sensitive. Add the goby first and then the clowns. You should be good to go then. :)

hahahaha yea yea real funny. but awesome i think that what i will go with then. and i dont plan on adding anything but live rock for atleast another 2-3 weeks. what can i add first? shrimp? snails? corals? fish?

Just buy 5pounds of rock. That's all you need and more would be crowding it. Add it all at one time if you can and start your cycle with a very small piece of shrimp. Test after a week. You ghost feed a week and test to make sure you have 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites. Then you can add a fish. Wait about a month and add your clownfish pair. Adequate flow and some filtration is all that is needed. Of course water changes are good too. Lol

i already have about 3 pounds of live rock in it. id like to have about 10 pounds total. once i get some money ill go ahead and start adding some more live rock. but okay sounds good. ill stick to just that

i already have a pretty good idea of what i want it to look like and i plan to pretty much stick to that as much as possible, depending on the rocks and such

This is the order that I would add the livestock in your tank in:
1) Live Rock.
2) Let it Cycle
3) A part of the cuc. Like a snail or a crab.
4) Wait about 1 week.
5) Add the Goby.
6) After1 Month, the clowns can go in.

Similar to snakes, but you add a part of the cuc first.
I also think that 2 clowns and a Goby in a 10g might cause some aggression between the clowns and the goby. If it were me, I would just do 2 clowns.

really? i didn't think there would be a problem with that especially if the Gobi goes in first. I would really like to try and have all three. If there ends up being a problem ill just have to fix it i guess. but yea ill definitely stick to that order. thanks guys

Yep, it's a bit of a risk, like 85% that they'll be mostly peaceful and 15% of major aggression imo. But, as you said earlier, you can always fix it, so go ahead!!!

Lol. Ooooo yes, that goby is going to eat the clowns and pick its teeth with the rib bones and ask for seconds. Lol, traveler, your funny sometimes. :D
I don't think it really matters when you add a cuc. Some people don't have any at all. Lol.

haha okay well ill take the risk for now, if i regret then i guess ill buy you lunch or something lol so snails and things can live thru the cycle no problem? id really like to have some more movement in the tank while i wait for the fun stuff

There is a bigger chance of them dying during the cycle... so I wouldn't do it until the cycle is over.
Seth, first, thanks for the humor! I needed it :)
But, Patrick, I highly recommend a clean up crew. They'll eat/move around algae, uneaten fish food, etc.....

Snails have to have something to eat. Wait till after your cycle ends and when algae starts to grow to add snails. After you add fish, you will be feeding the tank extra food - which means it might be a good time to add a couple few hermits. Hermits scavange meaty foods - not algae. Snails eat algae, for the most part. Two different types of cleaners. There's also brittle stars which are omni/detrivores what eat detritus and leftover food stuffs. It would be cool to get a small brittle star for the tank once the cycle ends. :D
By the way, chemicals do not speed up the cycle. Bacterial additives and potions are not the best way to go about trying to cycle an aquarium.

Thanks for expanding, Seth!

also i was just warned on RC that a green clown gobie and 2 false percs is wayyy to much for a 10 gallon and it will eventually crash. what is your opinion on this? i honestly think it will be fine. especially if i get small clowns. its only going to be up and running for about a year or so
