LOL..Traveler I know what you mean....The thread on my sump build was a small book.
Well I have my ammonia spike, so waiting for that to go down. I also started dosing magnesium in the 30g...the hair algae is FINALLY going away. LOL...by the time the tank is cycled and ready, my 30g will be all clear. SHH...it was just an excuse to justify getting a bigger tank anyway.
I'm thinking about using an ornimant in the tank and make a kind of fantasy whimsical sea horse tank instead of the corals and macros. That would be easier to keep clean, I actually liked Meowzers pineapple Sponge Bob house. I wonder if we can buy the other charactors homes and do a whole Sponge Bob town....with a crabby patty restaurant.....I will still have live rock and hitches.

WOW...Yes, that's a great idea...You know what, I even have some tall plastic Roman columns from when I made wedding cakes...those would look awesome. They are in a box in the garage. I won't be making anymore cakes so I may as well use them.

I have six 13 inch ...white Roman pillars. They sell shorter, smaller ones at Walmart that I can get and put them towards the front laying down. Once coraline starts on them they will look awesome. What do you guys think? I'm open for suggestions....should I paint them?

Sounds like a good idea. If you decide to paint them, I would probably go with gray. Personally, I would just leave them white. It won't be long and they will have coraline on them and you won't see the color anyway. If they are white they will look like marble.

I wouldn't paint it and leave it white... it will look very pretty once the coralline starts growing...
and Teresa.. that is really nice.

This is a picture of the cake columns I have, they are not cool, old and crunchy looking ones like the ruins....but they are nice and big 13 inches tall would go 1/2 way up in the tank
I won't use the platter..LOL...

I looked at that one, I like it too. What size is your SH tank? That is only about 6 inches, I thought it would be lost in the tank. Or were you thinking of doing more than one?

wow... those columns are BLEACH white... it would take a while for the coralline to fill in and look more natural.
I don't know about those in a seahorse tank with out some modification... I think that there needs to be more horizontal lines so the seahorses have more places to grab onto.

Well as an added problem they float. So I have to drill a hole or something, I might attach them to the base platter and use the rocks to hold them down. The feeding dish would look good on top. I will have to play around with them.
Traveler.....Believe me coraline will have no trouble covering anything plastic. The bleach white looks nice in there, I have a black background and they really stand out. The lights make a nice shadow on them....I can also paint them, blotch them up a little.
These are no good for hitches, they are way too large, but I could run some fake plants through and around them...Basically it's just for looks. The one Teresa showed would be better for hitches.
It's all in the planning stage right now, just something to do while the tank cycles. I still have ammomia but I also have nitrites...so it's on it's way.
Tersesa...... 18" long...how tall? I thought it was like 6" They have quite a few of them, you could do more than one type as long as they are the same scale or it would look weird....56g ..So we have the same tank?
