How cute...LOL...arethose 2 yellow horses plastic?
No, the entire bowl with 3 horses attached is painted ceramic...LOL..it's a stand for a Betta bowl. The coral and treasure was also a Betta bowl holder, that I used in the other tank.. I liked this one because it had the horses as hitches. The last one they wallowed in because they had no holds...this is not a good picture, my little horses on the bowl holder are yellow with brighter yellow tummies. These are brown with green tummies.

Flower, it looks real good. Don't worry, you're not boring us! Now what is that big black thing across the front of the tank?

LOL...That's the temporary filtration until I have the sump all ready to go. I'm using a Cascade canister, and it has the intake and output just draped over the right side and the spray bar is angled and not pinned down in position.

I'm ordering a chiller!........................ I got my money from vacation payout FINALLY.
So I can get a chiller. I'm thinking of the Arctica 1/10 HP from ....I'm waiting on any imput from you guys before I make a final decision. In the summer I keep my room cool so the tank stays at 72 - 75 but in the winter the heat might be a problem, I have the cash so I figure I will get the chiller. My room stays cooler than the rest of the house anyway, so it's sort of a just in case thing to have running so temps stays steady without any worries.

On chillers and air conditioners....what does the higher or lower BTU mean? Does it have anything to do with power or how good it runs to cool?

Yes that's exactly what it is. The more BTU's it has, the greater capacity for heating or cooling water faster.
LOL...I had no idea what I was saying...lets try it this way.
One chiller is for up to an 80g tank...1485 BTU.....1/10HP
Another chiller is for up to 130g tank ....1270 BTU....1/10HP
So I'm confused, if the bigger the BTU means the better to cool with...why does the one for the bigger tank have the lower BTU?

Beats me, but I'm thinking the manufacturers of the 1270 unit are just trying to hype up the numbers. In the heating and cooling world more BTU means more power to heat or cool. I would think that the one rated for 80g is just a more conservative estimate which means even on a 130g tank, it would still be a little more effective than the 1270 unit.

Okay...that I understand. Thank you. I'm checking out chillers, and I want the best for my dollar. So the number to watch is the BTU....I thought so, but wasn't all that sure.

I also run an aqua euro. I use my canister filter to run it. works great.
Thanks, nothing better than knowing who is giving the kudos...so you and Meowzer both use that brand, I know Nova uses a small ice prob on a overflow penguin filter he modified...LOL...I think, but my tank is over 50g and they don't recommend it for a tanks over that size. I WAS going to get that for the 30g but nooo...LOL...I had to go bigger, I so have the saltwater tank bug

I have seen dual Ice probes modded into a hob filter, but by the time you buy two, and a controller, you would ave spent as much or more then the Aqua euro. (Just saw one for 349.00)

Oh not just the two and a filter, but you also need the thermometer thingy too. On the Aqua Euro...Yes I did too, and they also wanted to charge for shipping, and then said it was extra heavy so they had to charge more...I stopped the process of checking out. I can do better.

I need info on a Kalkwasser reactor...is this any good?

There are two ways Calcium can be added to your reef tank, the Calcium Reactor or the Kalkreactor pictured here.
You can either gravity feed through the Kalkreactor from a freshwater top-off system to your reservoir, or use a dosing pump.
We chose a reliable water pump in lieu of the magnetic stir bar, which tends to jam, bind and wear the acrylic.
Our model also includes a threaded opening at the top to enable adding Kalk powder without removing the lid.
Master fabricated and computer cut, the KR620 is a very nice piece of equipment.
KR-620 Specifications:

- Overall Height: 20"
- Reaction Tube Diameter: 6"
- Reaction Tube Height: 18"
- Base Diameter: 7.75”
- Water inlet and outlet size: 1/4" Polypropylene tubing
- Method of feeding: Gravity or Pressure
- Supplied Water Pump: Maxi-Jet 400

can I ask why you think you need that. I thought those were used by people with high calcium demanding corals like sps and clams.
