can I ask why you think you need that. I thought those were used by people with high calcium demanding corals like sps and clams.
T
I use the aquaripure filter and I have been dosing alkalinity by hand every morning, Someone on the site told me if i dosed kalkwasser that it would stasblize the PH and calcium that keeps dropping because of the Aquaripure....soooo...I was looking at dosers with an IV drip and found this gizmo but I don't know if this is the same kind of thing, I also was considering getting SPS coral...This is the 90g....I do have another small Aquaripure on the SH tank and I dose that as well.
I was getting ready to order the chiller, but dicided to check out the kalkwasser thing too.

I ordered the Aqua Euro Chiller, a 2.5 Kalkwasser drip doser, and Kalkwasser mix.
I also went to the local hardware store and purchased some light gray, and dark gray spray paint, oh and some yellow...to paint the white columns. I also got some plexiglas for attaching the bottoms and tops of the columns so I have a shelf to put live rock on and the plexiglas on the bottom to make them more stable.
I got my baffles all ready to attach to the sump, and a new ventura pump to replace the lifter pump. So it's been a very busy expensive day.

Good job.. that's pretty cool... and this is an expensive hobby...

UPDATE:
Chiller is on order. Getting the PVC plumbing for the tank today, I will glue the parts in position tonight or tomorrow, and then set up the new sump. Once I have that created then I will transfer the canister filter to the SH tank and remove it from the sump. Take the overflow and return pumps and get the new tank set up so that as soon as I'm happy with the cycle being completed...all I have to do is acclimate and move my critters.
The roman columns I ordered are due to arrive today, so I can paint the white columns to kind of match, then glue those on the plexiglas I pickup today, to create a shelf. I may go by the lFS and pick up some live rock to put on that shelf.
My plan is to have things easy to clean and remove. It won't be as cool as the 30g with the coral and macros but I think my decor will look good when I'm finished. I will post pictures as soon as I have it set up. I do plan to have a refugium to breed amphipods. I also want to seed the tank with them...maybe in a year I will have enough copepods to get a mandarin. I think I will put some feather dusters in this tank as well, and maybe some mushrooms.

Pictures....I got the SH feeding dish and shelf painted and I'm waiting for it to dry. The textured paint is the same as the regular krylon..100% non-toxic after it dries. I added a base to the feeding dish to make sure it's good and sturdy. The base will be deep in the sand hidden. The shelf is sturdy enough for at least 50 pounds to sit on so I know it can hold the live rocks I purchased for it. It's just 10 pounds. It looks pretty good to me.

I got some nice bumpy lumpy pieces of rock and a few more branch pieces to go on the shelf...I will put the columns I purchased in the front area and use the ones I made as a back drop with the live rock. I will put the fieeding dish back where I had it in front of the rock I matched the columns pretty good.
Mine

The one I bought.

so your not moving the corals and macros to this tank??? what are you doing with the 30 gal??
With the Aquaripure the macros are doomed, and I now have that on both tanks. What I had is choked in hair algae, I can't get the little bits off and I wouldn't want to infest someones tank with HA. I don't have lights strong enough to penetrate deep enough for coral in this tank, I just barely had enough for Kenya with a very shallow tank, but I do plan on my mushrooms going back in. I was going to scrub the 30g and sell it, or store it...I would gladly offer it to folks on the site, but with the rock wall it's pretty heavy, and if UPS was going to charge $40.00 for an ornament I can't imagine what they would charge for this....they can't deliver an acrylic sump in one piece, and we know how good their "insurance" is... don't we.
I was going to let my daughter have it but she doesn't want to spend the cash to set it up, she has 6 children so I totally understand that, but I do good to run my own tanks and I can't do it for her. The equipment on the 30g is going to be modified and used on the new 56g.

Discouraging...I trimmed my baffles to get them to fit...and now they are too small. Do I even need the baffles?...I don't have any issues of any microbubbles..not in any chambers on the 30g and that's the equipment I'm transferring.

Pictures of the whole thing put together.
All there is left is maybe some plastic plants, my mushrooms and the tank critters. I will be doing some water test later.
For now I set up the canister. I'm still waiting on word on what to do about the sump.

No flash...the tank has no lights on it yet

I did my tests...the tank is ready....I now have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and 0 nitrates.
Now for the best way to acclimate the horses from one tank to the other. It's been a while since I had to do this, now I'm nervous. I'm thinking a container of the horses and just add a little water and remove a little water for about an hour and transfer them...then do the fish the same.....should I do all my critters at once or put some of them in and wait a bit? This tank is 100% new so it isn't like moving a pre-established tank.
What needs to be transferred:
4 sea horses
1 hectors goby 1 inch
2 yellow clown fish 1 inch each
5 peppermint shrimp
fan worm
65 snails

I think it looks really cool Flower. The SH are going to love it.

Worried. That's my middle name......The columns seem fine, I don't have any flaking, so I will leave them in. I asked my question and didn't get any answers, so I began an in depth study on the paint..going to the manufacturer and asking questions. I want you guys to know that I didn't blow off your advice, but everyone kept saying they were not sure. So I suppose again..I will be the lab rat.
I think I will just transfer the yellow gobie first. At night they hang out on the tank glass and will be easy to catch, maybe I will acclimate and add them tonite. I ordered some Amphipods and I'm going to seed the tank with them. The tank is so new, I just don't feel comfortable adding a bunch of life all at once. There is no algae for the poor CUC either. I also need some more hitches.
I also looked into the sump thing...I guess I have to get some new baffles cut so the skimmer has a constant water level at least. First I'm going to go get some thicker EPDM and see if I can correct the over trim that way.....Otherwise it's good old silicone for me after I do a recut.
The good news is, I don't have to remake the return 2Quills made for me. All I have to do is cut the pipe to make it shorter and I purchased a connector to glue and reattach the pipe once I have the right size. Then replace the spray bars with some longer ones and I'm good to go. With no refugium section in the sump I can do a straight drop for the overflow and not divide it.
I'm sitting here, looking at the rocks in the corner...I could block off a section in the back of it with egg crate (Beaslebobs design) and make a safe area for amphipods and copepods where the horses can't reach them....but no macros...While it's fishless is the time to play with it.

I love the tank!! I'm with you, I would move a few of the smaller fish and and few cuc at first and watch them to make sure everything is alright. Give them a week or so, test parameter then add a few more. That way if something is wrong with the tank most of your stuff will be safe. I'd do the horses last.

Sorry Flower - I should have said that I have had fusion krylon in the SW & FW tanks, everything is fine and it has been months. I think I would do as you said put the clown goby in first and the SH last.

Thanks, it sounds like a plan to me...
I'm posting a picture of my room. LOL..so you guys can see my pain. The entire room is 10 X 11. My computer desk is in the room as well, and no place else to put it for now. My work station is my bed, which is right behind my chair. I can stretch my printer cable to the laptop computer. See that black line from tank to tank.. I ran an air tube from the pump on the hairy tank to make bubbles on the new tank as well...
My life until I can break the hairy tank down, also I "THOUGHT" I had a grip on the hair algae...no, it bounced back with a vengeance...this is my life...LOL
From the doorway of my room...two foot walk around from my desh to both tanks..no space between my bed and chair.

From the opposite corner so you can see my bed. The desk will go in the hairy tanks place after I break it down.
