What if you exchange your 8 footer for a 6 footer because you kept getting complaints that it's too big? What i yiu have no bio balls?
My friend, let me tell you something. An 8 foot tank is NEVER too big. You might
be pushing it with a 10 or 12 foot tank, but even that is up for debate among serious hobbyists. You can fit an 8 foot tank just about anywhere.
Then again, I suppose it really depends on the person enjoying the tank. Ease of access, and all that.

Careful Rae, you're treading on an unspoken rule. No matter the size, 4 foot, 6 foot, or 8 foot.....you never make fun of another man's tank (Not where he can hear).

or their sump
Bwahahahahahaaa
That's a bro code thing.
I'm a lady.
Well, a woman.
And we don't have to follow all of that stuff.
We are born judging.

That being said, if someone did have other things in their tank and sump, like big fish, pretty coral, a work ethic to learn all of the husbandry and take care of the animals properly, one might be less inclined to judge solely based on the size of a tank or what kind of equipment in the... um, sump.
Still doesn't mean we won't talk about it over cocktails on a girl's night out.

My husandry skills are very good. My tank is well taken care of. And...... I care for before being cared for.

These pics are taken with no actinic...

Some with full lighting...

Just to give you an idea...my Poci started life in my tank like this....

And now looks like this:

And...I don't know when this shot was taken (but it was recent!):

But you can see a lot of good growth by looking at where the branches have grown from the "Y" breaks....

It looks very good! I love your bookcase and matching stand. It's really a nice completed looking piece.
Three thumbs WAY up!

This is a good news/bad news kind of post.
The GOOD news is this: I now know that (1) the GFCI outlet I installed works properly, and (2) it's not completely impossible to get to in order to reset the switch.....which was a mild concern when I set up the tank.
Now for the BAD news.....guess how I know all about the good news?? Go ahead. Consider this a guessing game. The one closest to the truth will get honor and bragging rights.

Because some water from the tank somehow got to the outlet tripping it off but luckily you noticed in time so you could reset it, thus, keeping the aquarium from suffering any substantial losses
Did I win?
