i said ppl like him should jump off a bridge. you cant say that i am like him bc he was the cause for my actions and statements. I would have never rolled down the windows and talked trash to him, nor to anyone.

People came from my continent in chains. There's no reason a new Africa can't be created right here and now.

There are blacks in this country that are worse racists than the biggest redneck KKK members. 1. Al Sharpton, 2. Jesse Jackson, 3. Spike Lee, and now VERY suprisingly Colon Powell.....
He want's a new Africa here and now!!! What the heck is he thinking???!!!???
Forget that noise! If he wants an Africa,....go back to "my continent," you putz! If you don't like it here, and this goes for everyone else,....GET OUT. I'm not holding you here. Don't force your Africa onto me. GET OUT. Go back to your Africa and see how much better your life would be, compared to how you have it now. He's lost a tremendous amount of respect from me, and I'm sure, from many members of our military.

General Powell, ya might want to fix the Old Africa before you start wanting to create a "new" Africa right here. Worried about your ancestors brought here in chains? What about the slavery that still exists in Africa 150 years after we abolished it?
Racism will continue in this country until people quit placing adjectives in front of their names and just call themselves "American". My ancestors were European from Eastern Europe. I'm sure the Romans enslaved many of my ancestors and took them in chains too. Guess what, I don't walk around describing myself as European American, or "White". I am an American...
Powell's endorsement would have bothered me until this little performance he joined in on. Now i see he is just another guy; more concerned about skin color than being American.

As I am waiting at a light in New Brunswick, NJ a caucasian between the ages of 30-40, pulls up next to me, honks to get my attention, and calls me a god damn muslim and how Obama and I should kill ourselves. Clearly he was too f*king stupid to tell the difference between a hindu and a muslim, even when I had an AUM sign on my back window. Apparently to him, everyone that has brown skin happens to be islamic? Even if I was islamic, ppl like him need to stop the hate and stfu. Sadly said ppl like this need to do us all a favor and jump off a bridge. Back to my story... I tried to play it cool, but he kept saying garbage and really pissed me off. After hearing all his bullsht, I got out of the car and he started to drive away. I had a snapple bottle in my car, and decided to whip it at his car. Broke his back window. Stupid redneck. I bet he was pissed lmao.
Free speech in this country, no matter how stupid, is protected under the First Amendment.
Vandalism is not.

I was driving through some towns in OK on the way home from my brother's wedding, and in this one small town. All the McCain Palin and the republican senator (a good one too) were vandalized. It was pretty rediculous.

Yelling racial insults and threats at an individual on the street is not protected speech.

I dont condone it ,but it was at one time. Our freedoms are being stripped from us a little bit at a time by self serving Politicians and Lawyers."Freedom of Speech " It dosent take a rocket scientist to figure out what it means.Politicians and Lawyers have changed it to evolve into something else.Same goes for "Right to bear arms" and on and on.
It would be nice to go back to the basics and enforce some basic
principals our forefather intended for this country. Not pile a bunch of useless laws that are vague and contradict each other. Stick to the basic ten.
ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'
TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'
THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'
FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'
FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'
SIX: 'You shall not murder.'
SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'
EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'
NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'

How hypocritical of the GOP. This is a guy that most of you said you would vote for if he were the candidate of the Republican party. Race has nothing to do with Powell's decision to endorse Obama... and I believe Powell's decision is completely independent of the candidates. This decision just shows how the dynamics of race are still prevelant in a society who wants to push it under the rug... false claims of reverse racism or closet racist are the tactics used to paint citizens whom are looking for a change for the better... for inclusion of all people.
Had Powell endorsed McCain your opinions would be much different and you would be celebrating this "key" endorsement... But this is someone who has seen the failed policies of the last 8 years and a candidate who has shown poor judgement in how he has handled the circumstances revolving around his campaign and the ongoing economic issues.
But I am ranting as if I expected something different.

Not really a surprise. Figured if he was going to support McCain it would have happened at the convention.
Quite unfortunate that Powell came out and spread the false claim that McCain was suggesting Obama is a Muslim. Quite the contrary McCain was took the mic away from some idiot at one of his events and corrected her when she was saying he was Arab.
Obviously the Obama campaign must have seen something in the poll numbers they didn't like. I still think this was over but this should give Obus a little bump.
and Geri is correct... this isn't about Obama being Arab, but the suggestion that muslims are not decent, family people... It is about a history of exclusion and the very real fact that we have people of all faiths serving our military, not to mention as citizens of this nation... There are muslims that fought and died in this war... Its an issue of McCain being out of touch and not relating to these people just as he doesn't relate to the middle class... he has made countless statements demostrating this.

Based on the post, no threats nor racial insults were used.
That said, please show me where the Constitution limits "racial insults".

This is most likely the more accurate scenario. I am surprised at this from him.
Powell is probably retired from political life... I assume he gets a great pension.
I would like him to be part of this admin... but I doubt he will

Please post a link where most of us said we would vote for him...
As for the reverse racism, explain what the heck creating a "New Africa" means?

Not really, never really was a big fan of Powell. Nor am I surprised based off his dialog since he left the bush administration

I think there is precedent, it is illegal for someone to use profanity in public in a lot of places.
