the USA should do nothing, georgia provoked this war and now they have to deal with it, and why should we do anything anyways? want another cold war? the Russian Federation doesnt want to take over ALL of georgia they just want the breakaway province. and you want us to put our men and women in harms way to protect a nation who started this whole thing? anyways if we mess with the Russian Federation they might be crazy enough to start messing with us, The Russian Federation still has enough Nukes to blow the world up three times over, and anyways if anything happens(like russia continues to attack) we dont have enough troops, so you want a draft? well i guess we could pull our troops out of iraq like we should have dong years ago(actually we should of never had to pull our troops out of iraq because they shouldnt have been there in the first place), anyways what im saying is we need to stay out of it.
P.S. stop calling the Russian Federation the soviet union, they havnt been the soviets for almost 17 years

I'll stop calling them Soviets when they quit acting like Soviets.... The past 5 days have proven beyond all shadow of a doubt the Kremlin is alive and well.
In summation... A large and militarily superior Nation has countryman living in a bordering Nation. They invade under the pretense of protecting the rights of said citizens after the invaded Nation moves against seperatists stirring up unrest in their Nation. They then demand that the invaded Nation change their Government to a more friendly one. all the while the world watches.
The scenario I just described could describe the Russian invasion of Georgia. More importantly, however, it precisely describes Germany's invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1939.
*Appeasement does not work. Never has.
*Georgia has been a faithful Ally.
If you believe the soviets invaded Georgia to protect anyone you've got a great deal more faith in the Kremlin's humanitarian side than i do....
The Cold War began anew several years ago. Don't forget there were Soviet military advisors in Iraq when we invaded.

all I'm saying is, Georgia was in the wrong and the Russian Federation is just going to "slap them around a bit" so other nations will get the message, "don't F with the Russian Federation"

How exactly was Georgia in the wrong? Insurgents in two provinces were revolting, with the assistance of the Soviets. When the Georgians reacted, the Soviets invaded.

I've lost all respect for your opinion because you seem to think that the soviets still exist, there for you have no clue who is fighting in this war.

I firmly believe the Soviet mentality and leadership still exists.
Now, how about explaining how Georgia was in the wrong?

he clearly states the SOVIETS are invading, this quote sure sounds like hes talking about soviets invading not the Russian Federation. The USA is acting more like the ACTUAL soviet union than the Russian Federation is, we are going into other countries(Iraq) trying to make them democratic (reminds you of how the soviets were trying to spread communism doesn't it?) really how long has democracy been around?..... a couple hundred years, and how long has monarchy been around?........ since man became civilized.
so how about from now on we call the USA the soviets

I love the concept of comparing the USA in freeing 30 million Iraqis, after 17 UN Resolutions and a 6 month warning, to the Soviet Empire that enslaved, oppressed , and murdered over 100 million people.
Nice.

No. Then again, I believe in the sanctity of the Constitution.
Sorry, but that is a crazy argument. People needed to be oppressed? People needed to be reigned in?
The biggest issue I see with the USA today is the mentality in your post I just quoted.

That's what Hitler was saying as he tossed humans into ovens and gas chambers. This is for your own good.
