Thanks Flower.....I know what you are saying.....I just miss her :( BUT..on a good note....if this continues ...WHICH IT WILL....I will probably be able to take her home for good next week......I know she will be on meds and have to go back for tests....BUT I can do that

OK UPDATE:
Blood work that came back today is BETTER....the HCT is 12.9 (was 12.6) NOT a large increase..BUT AN INCREASE
The WBC is 24 (last was 31.9)
SOOOO...I am torn on what to do.....Yesterday when I was there she got a little "excited" and that is the last thing we want..when she gets excited (or stresed) she starts to get "breathy"..The dr is thinking since this is our first signs of stabilization that it may be best to leave her.....she is very worried that "extra" activities or stress...(or anything) could be harmful to her.....I do have 2 cats and a dog.....the cats won't care about her but Rosie (the pug) will......YES, I can seperate them, BUT I also know Rosie is an uncontrollable excitable dog.....since Pixie has been in the hospital I have allowed Rosie to come in the fishroom (usually the dogs don't) SOOOO for me to bring Pixie in here, and block Rosie out I think will cause Rosie to scratch and whine at the gate....and IMO that will upset Pixie
I just don;t know what to do.....It would devastate me if I brought her home and she went backwards after this small but wonderful improvement
Since I have to wait for deliveries today, I can not go to see her till later.....so I have all day to think about this...I'm not worried about the weekend fees, I have paid them $150 so far and I owe them about $400 more, so 2 nights at $30 a night is not gonna make or break me....BUT can be bad for her (hubby says leave her)
SIGHHHHHHHHHHH
Dog got a little better under vet care staying there......I need to say no more.

Sounds like she turnede the Corner Leave her there. This is coming from Someone that was Pulling his hair out over his Mother 3 months ago now she is well enough to move into assiasted Living. So let the Experts take care of her you may think you can do a better job but they have the tech to do it better, also less Stress on You your Hubby and the Patient if she is there.

Glad to hear that she's improving.
I would leave her there as well, but insist that they allow visits both days so you can physically see that she's okay there, which will help your stress.

It's a very personal thing. My Schnauzer would not have tolerated the vet at all. Stress is more than excitability, it's also sitting quietly in your cage around strangers being quietly stressed.
How often do they check on her on the weekends? If she's alone most of the time, that may be the deciding factor for me.

Yay! Go Pixie!
If you would like a fill in to keep you occupied, I can send you Ella, she has now decided she hates the boys. I can't say as I blame her as two weiners wouldn't be the coolest crew to spend my time with. She is a frequent flyer, she's already racked about 5000 miles!
Here she is in her inner sanctum, aka, Dalton's closet where she somehow managed to pull all the camping blankets down from the shelf that is about 6 feet off the ground. Ooops, I probably shouldn't have told you that.....

LOL...thanks guys
Renee...they will be there Saturday, and then between the 3 drs they go every few hours...or more as they have emergency calls....which appear to happen very frequently there
When she is there with them, she just lays there watching....when I am there she wants to get up and about.....here..with the other dog, I am thinking she will also want to do more of that...and she needs to stay still
Smartorl...NO THANK YOU....as much as I love my babies.....I am not getting anymore.....after these....I'm done (HAHA you believe that....)

OK....well she got up on all 4's when she saw me and even wagged her tail... :) she did not want my chicken..apparently she liked the drs lunch better...it was a chicken and cheese wrap...haha....The dr said Pixie even ate the tortilla....I left more chicken ...and will bring more in the morning....I am also bringing Rosie...she is due for a rabies vacc...and a checkup....they will keep her in another room while I visit Pixie
New comments from the lab: Spherocytosis is much less now and the polychromAsia is marked so this is a very regenerative anemia, elevated wbc with a predominately mature neutrophilia and monocytosis could be inflammatory or due to steroid treatment. I checked for Babesia but found none.
ALSO the NRBC is now 55 (HIGH) and the dr says that is good
I have all the other #'s too......if need be I can try to scan them again....Just let me know
anyway the comments are good from what I am told...even tho I don;t understand them all...LOL
FUNNY...I asked if they wanted any more money and they said NAH.....we'll take care of it when you either take her home or are ready LOL...I said OKAY

Sounds like she's on the rebound. I'm really glad to hear it....and I can see that you already know she's not "out of the woods" yet, but definitely getting better. I bet you can't wait to see your baby back home!!

OH BELIEVE ME......I can not wait either.....I am hopeful that she will come home with my Thursday....I know she will still be on meds for a long time...possibly forever from what I have read,,,,BUT we will deal with that step when it comes

I am glad she is showing progress. You are correct about long term medication. Some of these guys stay on corticosteroids for months. Based on the comments from your vet, your hubby and maybe an active household it sounds like a good plan to leave her for a couple days...coupled with the fact that your total bill sounds like a single night's costs at most of our local 24/7 care facilities.
I am happy for her and your family!

Thanks AL....they will re-test the blood Monday.....the dr does not think she should go home until it is at least back up to 16/17...even tho that is still low....as long as it is going up...
I did not ask her how often we will have to test the blood after that.....I have time to ask that question

Just got back from Todays visit....brought plenty of chicken for today and tomorrow....She was very happy to see me...NOT SO happy to see Rosie..LOL
I held Pixie while they cleaned her crate and put her next to where Rosie was..AND OH BOY what a growl....makes me think it was a GOOD decision to leave her there over the weekend.....they will test blood Monday....results will come Tues....they are sending all of her blood out....SO we will see how far we have to go
