Yeah, I never liked schedule 20 PVC. I was always a 40 fan myself - or 80 if I could get my hands on it for cheap. That sucks that happened, but at least now you can look back and laugh at it.
Yeah, I'm going to start on the canopy build once I get this customers aquarium stand and canopy built. I'm finally getting caught up on everything. I was able to work most of the day on it today and I got a fair amount of the trimwork put on. Although, and the sad thing is, my router bolts are stripped! So, I can't take the router off of the router table!!! So, I'll have to spend a few minutes and get a tap and die set and get em' loose and replace the bolts. I also toyed around with the idea of buying a used router from a pawn shop, but I couldn't find any 1/2" shank routers - they were all 1/4" and didn't have the ability to change out the collet to a 1/2" one. So... I guess I may have to buy my own router instead of using my fathers. It's about time I buy all of my own tools anyways. I'm looking at purchasing a jig saw, skil saw, router, and biscuit cutter.... just going to take time to get it all put together.
As far as other purchases go...
My wife purchased a few things for me for Christmas on my aquarium wish list...
1. new filters for the RO/DI unit. It's about spent and I needed it... not only for the tank but also just for house use.
2. new 150w HQI Sockets for my metal halide ballasts. I polished the reflectors and they are ready to go!
3. T5HO light standoffs so that I can finally install my T5's that I purchased in a canopy.
For myself, I just purchased today:
1. 200g of Instant Ocean Sea Salt
2. 40lbs course grain sand
3. one yellow tang
I spent a butt load just then. lol, but I still have enough money to purchase all of the wood necessary to build a canopy - I just have to get around to it. I am setting aside some money so that I know that I will have enough for the canopy. Plus, I am working hard in the taxidermy shop now and I am getting paid well again - so I know that I am going to have plenty of money for tank expenses coming up soon. I am excited that I have a new customer and I am glad that he likes my work. I've gotten plenty of business off of the people that I have already done work for, so I know I must do a pretty good job. lol
