Considering the other issues you've had lately, a UV might be a good investment for your QT. Honestly, I don't run one and never have just because I've never needed to, but quite a few people do.
Glad to hear that they're not fighting. How is the breathing since the water change and removing the divider?

ok cool, i will see if i can pick one up tomorrow:)
breathing is good, there still eating so its quite good:)
my queen loves the amount of flow but my emperror is abit eiffy about it, gettin more and more used to it tho, at first he just situated himself in the corner but now he's starting to adventure out:)
his colour is going on top too:):)

Glad to hear things are working out for them.
Have you thought about putting the lion in first so that he's not picked on by two angels at once? I know a lot of people are concerned with the angels nipping at the lion

yehh i think i may do that, its been about a month since the clowns were introduced so i could add the lion any day really.
i just hope in the bigger tank the lion will not be so aggresive.
i do have a explanation for it tho i think, when i bought him i thought after a few days he was a russels because he was so dark, but recently i have found out that thats because he was not happy. but now he is alot brighter and lighter in colour.
maybe it was because of the feeding problems or maybe just the stress of moving?
he's still on frozen, and TBH i dont see him coming off frozen, so as soon as he's in the tank i think i may have to turn the 10g back into a tropical FW tank and put a load of river shrimp in there for him.
i'll feed them like marine flakes or something so he can get some vitimins in him.
(the flakes have garlic in them)

He probably won't be as aggressive in the larger tank. The aggression is probably due to the smaller tank.
Did you mean the lion still ISN'T on frozen?

thanks BTLD:)
i bought me a UV steriliser yesterday for the QT:)
i think i got it working right, the water is a lil bit clearer, but hopefully soon it'll be like SUPER clean.
as soon as my angels are out and in my DT im going to re-cycle it. take everything out of it, wash everything!, then only put in the heater, powerheads, filters, UV steriliser and some PVC for cover.
gna scrub the tank clean

Nice. So you have the tang and the two angels in the QT? That's overload! Although, if I could con a LFS into selling me a yellow belly for regular price, I'd probably jump on it too. So who's in the DT, just the clowns? Maybe it's time to think about adding the angels? Or the lion since it doesn't look like he's going to frozen anyways?

yehh there is, and i think i will ad the angel tomorrow, they've been in QT for about a month for the queen, and the emp has been in there for like nearly a month and a half.
the lion i will add in about 3-4weeks, because your right he isnt going to go for frozen.
the tang is a VERY aggresive eater, which is good because they are quite reclusive fish when first bought so thats a worry off my mind.
its funny, the LFS i bought this from has ANOTHER yellow belly for the same price as i got mine:)
not going to get it tho lol

ok, i've been swamped today with work so i havent had time to add the angels into the DT, but tomorrow i dont start untill 5 so i can get it done:)
Need to get a new filter in my QT, one of them packed up:( so all thats filtering is the hang on filter. So i think tomorrow i'll get a new internal filter too, or maybe external. depends if i can get a good price on one:)

yehh i know, i will take some tank water into a container and put the filter in there and test the params, once there fine then the filter can go into the QT.
the tang and the queen are like a couple, they swim together and stuff:)

Careful of this. Usually this is a sign of aggression. Every Hippo I've ever owned has been obnoxious. My last one killed a couple of fish.

are you feeding the emp and queen sponge based foods then a diet of meaty foods? The queen must have sponge. Its their main diet. I would feed this 3 to 4 times a week if not everyday. I fed my EMP 4 times a day when he was 2.5 inches. In 8 months he grew to 5 inches and was changing drastically. I fed NLS pellets. Sponge. Then mysis then another meat mix at night. I also noticed when I upped the sponge intake of the emp his adult colors starting to grow in more dominant. I was only feeding sponge twice a week then switched to everyday. I would feed actual sponges bought from a local coral store. Soak them in garlic then I would feed Oceans Nutriion Angel formula.

the angels are in the main tank:)
the switch over went well:) there eating and swimming around normally:)
and crypt yehh i do, i feed like you said about 2-3 times a week.
although i may up that to everyday, i feed 4 times a day, in the morning i feed formula one flake (because i dont have time to prepare food), then at lunch and when i get back from college i feed meat soaked in garlic, (cockles and lance fish mashed up).
then twice a week at night i'd feed sponge. or meat again.
so i will probs change it to sponge every night with the others as normal.
my emp is about 4.5"-5" and still in full juvi colours. has a slightly light mouth and abit lighter around the dorsal fin, but only see it if you stare at him.
so i want him to be fully changed before like 7" or something :)
and the queen and hippo didnt seem to be aggresive to each other at all:)
now the wait for the lion to be introduced then the hippo, then once the hippo's in i'll get my zebra eel:) and depending on how the nitrate levels i'll see if im to get a lunare wrasse, so yehh:)
