What does just as good mean??? They aren't just as good, they are close, but aren't better

im not im just saying if u were to use a fan and a light meter, u WILL find that that it gives out more lunems than without fans

If I go t5's how many bulbs at what wattage?
I'm just trying to get on the "I need good info" bandwagon. Ha! Any help would be great. I currently run 2 48" 260w PC's. Barry

Read oceanas first post in this thread. If you want the best growth possible, then get the MH. I will NEVER buy into the T5 trend that is going on right now.
Besides, in a year or so when the new LED lighting system goes down in price, everyone will be screaming LEDs.
I will stick with good old tried and true MH.
By the way fanker, throw some par numbers at me. You always talk about how much par the T5s have, well I want numbers.

Who gives a crap about lumens?
Par is what is important here.

Did I miss something? Since when was there a T-5 trend?
The latest trend that I have heard in lighting was the LEDs. Unfortently they don't pentrate a 30in tank well right now.

what you refering to is a volt amp meter and you can also do the math if you know ohms law and know your power factors to determine current loss and power output which you dont since you are 16 and would have to go to college or be in a local union which consists of a 6 year aprenticeship coarse after you were to graduate from high school

Ohhhh I love these debates....Guess I'm going to have to pull out the book and give some reference data for people to understand.........

Right now!
About the last 6 months there has been an explosion of T5 users. Now that many have jumped on the T5 bandwagon and had success keeping SPS, they want to compare them to MH.
By the way, I am not saying T5s are crap, I just don't believe in them.

definatly. t5s are by FAR brighter than MH. but once you stick the PAR meter a few inches under the water, you can see the difference

why are you getting so defensive and being so pretentious? no one is attacking you, your opinions, or your knowledge. i love debates. but we need to keep them friendly

I learned ohms law in Physics last year Current=voltage/resistance, I was 17, so it is possible that he may have some background
. Not sure I ever heard of power factors though, better look back in my notes.

Ok, so what is better? A unit that has MH and t5's or even pc's together or just MH? 1 ballast or two? Heat and cost wise?

I have to ask are you a narrowback. If you are you know what I mean If you aren't it is a term we refer to in the electrical trade.
It is not a bad thing.
