Yes I will agree with you on that one.. They are very Pricey for all of that stuff. Make sure you shop around!!

I can't even find a place to get live rock from...everywheres is sold out!

Performance wise, I think you'll find that the octopuss xp1000sss is the better ticket.

Oh what about a PM for me on the same matter Meowzer lol.. I think that I have Made a final decision and I am going to after all get the 75 gal and set it up.. I just dont think I am going to be happy with the 55 gal. I like the Idea of more space that the 75 gal offers. I think that I will just keep the 55 gal and maybe set that up as a Mostly coral tank later on.. How one can change their min so much in this Hobby... lol

I will be going with the Reef Octopus XP 1000sss 2Quills, final decision! I love the new funnel design, that's what sold me in the first place.

It's quite a bit cheaper then the AquaC's as well. From what I hear it blows the collection up right off the AquaC! Lol.

2 totally different things.....the aqua c is about $160...the Octo....$290

I Was looking at the EV Series not the remora. Which is a hang on and $160

Alot of manufacturers are catching on to the efficiency of the cone shape design and playing follow the leader. Octo's aren't the first...but they are probably the best bang for the buck.

I have an octopus skimmer and love it, theres currently no fish in the DT but it still manages to consistently pull black crap out of the water. Plus it went straight to work with out having anything that seemed like a break in period

Scott, you were interested in going with a 20G sump...this design should work with the skimmer that you want.
