Thanks to Corey (2Quills) I think that I have the confidence and the understand on how to do the sump for my tank.. I can not thank him and the others on here that have helped me out with giving me advice on how to getting everything together to get a SWF tank set up. I now think that as soon as I have everything that I need to set up my tank, I will be confident that I can do it and have the knowledge to move forth with this task. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAS HELPED ME THUS FAR ( you know who you are). But be sure as soon as I have the tank up and running I will have many more questions.

I have been working on what I would like to have in it if you want I can post some of the things I am thinking about.
FISH
2 X Ocellaris (1 Regular and 1 Black and White if this would be ok to put them together)
1 X Sixline Wrasse
2 X FireFish
2 X Purple Firefish
1 X Royal Gramma Basslet
1 X Bi-Colored Blenny
1 X Goby (not sure what kind yet any suggestions are welcome)
1 X Scott’s Fairy Wrasse
These are the fish I am thinking about.. I would love to have a Tang but I know that my tank would be to small for one so I guess it is out of the question...
If anyone has any suggestions on fish let me know. Also, if you have suggestions on a CC and how many of each that would be great!!!
I think if you take your time adding the fish over 8-12 months and your tank is established and you have alot of live rock in the DT, have a refugium and size your skimmer accordingly, you could probably keep most of those fish. Most of them are small and are not overly dirty fish. I personally would forget the sixline wrasse as they have a tendancy to be territorial and can be agressive towards tank mates. I have both purple and reg. firefish in my 40g but I put them in at the same time and they have done really well for me. Keep in mind that the Scotts Fairy Wrasse can mature to 6", if he gets that large, that would be really big for your system. The Carpenter flasher wrasse is a nice fish, maybe look into that, I think max size is 3". You are right about the tangs I think they recommend at least a 75g (not sure). Clown Goby's are really nice and they stay fairly small.
Also, keep craigslist in mind for buying all reef items, I have bought everything from Live rock & live sand to tanks and electonics to corals and fish. I have always got great deals, you have to keep checking on a daily basis to find the deals, but it's worth it!!
Meowzr might have some insight on the 6line, I haven't heard good things about them.
Good luck and make sure to post pictures!!

Thank you Tlsohio I have actually changed my mind and am going with a 75 gal tank now. I have to at some point take a look at my list of fish I want and Revamp it.. As soon as I do that I will then make up a list of fish that I would like to have in the tank. I will also being doing a dedicated tank build thread. So keep your eyes open for it...

LOL...Have you considered the 90g? That's what I did, I wet from 55g to 75g to a 90g. all are 48 inches long so the same lights work, it is wider so not the same stand. Just thought I would toss it in there, does not take up any more room really, but boy what a nice big tank.

Yes I have considered the 90 Gal also and right now I will be happy with the 75, If I was to go any bigger right now which I doubt at this time I will I would go with 125 gal or Larger. In the future I will go with something bigger, I just want to start out slowly with the 75 gal and get my feet wet in the hobby then move onto a bigger tank later on.. Thanks for the suggestion tho..

Ok so I will be the bad guy here (what else is new) I would much rather see you take back the DT and get one drilled for or with pre-installed overflow boxes

Oh Joe you are not being a bad guy and this has been suggested to me before.. The current 55 gal that I have I have had since July of this year. The 75 gal I have yet to purchase and the ones that are reef ready are kind of Pricey and I dont have a LFS close to me that I could see how much they would cost. The only other stores that I know about are like 1 hour or more from me. I would not take the chance of drilling the tank myself in fear that I totally would not know what I am doing. If I had someone near me that Knew what they were doing drilling the tank then I might consider having it drilled. I dont even know if the glass place where I will get the baffles from would or could drill a tank, so I guess that I will have to go with the HOB over flow for right now. Thanks for the suggestion tho!!

Ok just a little Update for everyone, I have decided that I will be going with a 75 Gal DT now and saving my 55 gal to set up at a later time. I just order 85# of Dry rock for my tank (will also be adding 45# of live rock when the tank is up). Had the money and it was a great deal on it so I did it. It should be here I think Thursday this week. I will post pics of it when it gets here. Also I should over the next couple of weeks be buying the other stuff that I need for the tank so I can get it up and running. MY target time to have it up and running its cycle is by Mid December. So stay tuned on how things are going because there will be a lot of pics.. LOL

Thanks Kevin. I may be doing it a little at a time but I am getting there. I am going to try really hard for that Target Date of Mid December for the set up. I think I should be able to get there...

That is always good when they give you more hours. I work 38 Hours a week but get paid for 40 hours. I am salary so my pay never changes its the same every week. But I usually work 38 hours some times I do hit the 40 hour mark but not that often.. lol
