trying to quit smoking help

Keep it up guys, I just quit too, exactly 2 weeks ago today. The gum worked best for me. Also when I'm at work I still go out with my buddies to smoke at our normal times just too keep the ritual. By day 7 it was much easier and right now having a smoke doesn't even sound appealing anymore ( I think the gum is keeping me sane. ) Now I am cutting the amount of nicotine gum I chew and substituting it for normal gum. Good luck all!

Its become my Mad Scientist equivelant to a Hollow Mountain latley but its all about steel and auto.
Just recently been playing with wood again for the stand and canopy build. Funny how cheap wood seems compared to shopping for steel channel and bar stock.

yeah i miss workin on cabinets and cars, when i lived in citrus heights back in 98 was restoring a 69 roadrunner, i miss that car, had the 383 i had just got through doing a break job on it and i went to jail for having a gun mandatory 30 days well remember that law they passed about then, if your neighbors thought your stuff on your property was an eyesore we did not like our neighbors and they took the opportunity to get it towed off the title was in the glove box make a long story short no one could recall who impounded the car that is why i live in texas now...tobin

RFB found one trick to quitting. Go around and find all of your old packs and throw them out!!!! Also if possible when you go out try not to carry any cash. That will stop the old "I will buy a pack and smoke one and then throw the pack away"
CL, Not only is that a cool car, interested in what is under the hood, but that is a BEAUTIFUL dog in your avatar!

I've been thinking about quitting. Thinking more about it every day. Is it just me, or the day you throw away the last pack and say "I'm done for good" something crappy happens and the first thing I do is go to the smoke shop. Argh..I have cut way way back over the last month but now my mother inlaw is coming to stay with us for like a month. I think that deserves a cigarette.
Now to not be negative, my husband is a doc and I am thinking of raiding his office for some help.
Reef for brains, you are right around the corner. If you want some chiantix, let me know and I'll see if I can lift some more.

Absolutley, if it works half as good as descibed I will be in great shape.
Besides, your the closest person on this board to me and yet we have never even met or done any trading.......You Turd!
Matt did say you came in to see him at Gil's. I love the guy but he NEVER has anything I need. Hes fighting to stay above water with that shop, no pun intended. He has plenty of new corals coming in all the time but a person cant find a heater, PH or test kit at that shop to save your life.
Either way, I am glad you went to see him and the shop. He tries so hard to make that place work.
You also can see the new tank build if you come down.

I hang my head in shame. I do great.....
First wake up and fight it off no prob, spend most all day but then when I wind down for the evening and have dinner I seem to constantly be justifying to myself i can have just one.....then I smoke a couple during the night.
Sure I am cut back to a fraction of before, but not quit. I am fighting with myself in the eveing hours. But like now, when its late night, I am fine... Hard rituals to break.
I wont use Tahoe as a crutch but it might verywell help put me over the after dinner smoke insanity I put myself through.

I know you guys are going through a tough time, but wouldn't it just be less temptation to just go and throw out all the cig's you have in your house and never buy any again?
i'm not a smoker, i never had to quit an addiction, so i don't know what you're going through, but it just would make sense--no cigs = no smoking

no it seems like that would work, a smoker would sell his mommas soul for a cig during a nic fit, the urge to smoke is strong, i think it is the 2nd most powerfull force on the planet, it is very difficult to explain to someone that has no addiction consider yourself lucky...tobin
