looking great. wondering uve had a problem with the sugar sized sand making the water a tad cloudy, nothing too bad, but littler specs in the column?

no the cloudiness is coming from my skimmer, my sump is just a 100 gallon rubbermade tub so i have no bubble traps. Still trying to figure out how im going to fix that. Also im running zero mechanical filtration and im getting small partials in the water column. Will be putting my filter socks back in place soon to remove those.

Tank looks nice, really cute pictures of the kids. They're fully engaged in it; better than tv :) It's come along alot since I last checked it out.

Looking good looking good. Is anyone else going in besides the two black clowns??
And BTW, thanks for all the helpful hints about GC.com. I finally got my tank and I couldn't be happier. The whole thing went off without a hitch and everything is in their new how and LOVING it. Thanks again for answering all of my silly questions.

Are there any issues with the Vortechs attaching to 3/4" glass?
you have to remove the spacer from the pump side "as recomended for 3/4" glass, works great"

I got that same Ro Unit. Is that the Chloramine unit? Have you set it up yet? If you have are you getting 0 TDS readings?
No its not the Chloramine unit. I get 3-4TDS from the RO and 0 after DI

I am loosely doing a neozeo method "loosely meaning im sporadic with my dosing and pumping of zeo stones". I have a zeo reactor running 1 liter of zeolites 3 hours on 3 hours off. im dosing 15ml of MB7 a day and 5ml of Biofuel. And every 3rd day i dose 5ml of amino acids.
My zeolites are due to be changed and i have replacement stones just been to lazy to do it. Check my TDS today and im at 5 so times to change out my DI cans.

Thanks, im starting to get a weird growth on the rocks that i have never seen. It almost like a brown slime with a jello texture. Been in the hobby 5 years or so now and i have never seen anything like it. My friend thinks its bacteria colonies from the NeoZeo system im running and bacteria dosage. It isnt diatoms or slime algae but it could be some other form of algae that i haven't seen before.

It is present in the last pic above of the watermelon chalice.

I agree with your friend. Not enough flow, not skimming enough etc. You have to remove the bacteria from the system via filtration as it does its job.

I have to admit i dont think i have enough flow in the tank, with 2 mp40s and a reeflo return there are still some spots in the tank that get very little flow. I wish i had installed a closed loop as i hate the idea of putting wires into my display tank. I may just go BB and install a few tunze to really spice it up.

Edit: Also this growth only occurs on the rocks with light present. the underside of the rocks or rock in the shade do not have this substance so thats why im left thinking its a form of algae as i would assume bacteria wouldn't care if it was in the light or not.

i've had the same growth on my rocks and i cant say its bacteria. looking at it more, it may be chrysophytes
