I recently purchased a mushroom rock (ricordia). when I got it home I realized it had this brownish/tan growth on the side. It felt kinda fleshy. it's mostly smooth with a few knobuals and it has an opening (like a mouth). any ideas? is it good/bad?

I'm just about setup and ready to go. I've got a AGA 90g w/overflow. If I use the prefilter sponge in the overflow, how often should I clean it and how? Thanks!

I'm getting ready to order lights for my 90 gal reef. I'm thinking of just going with 4 VHO for a total of 440W. They are run off one ballast though and can only be turned on together. I was trying to mimic the light cycle, but is it necessary to do with VHO? Or should I go MH & VHO combo.

For those of you using the fans from Radio shack, do you need any special wiring? transformers? Can they be wired into your lights to share timers? Thanks!

I'm assembling my equipment for a 90 gal reef. As fa as heaters go, I've read 2.5 WPG. I'm going with a 20 gal sump. should I get two 100-150 W heaters? or 1 250 W? If two heaters, would they both go in the sump? Thanks!
