Even if it remains moist it will still have die off and will need to re-cured. If it is going into an empty tank to cycle it, watch the ammonia levels don't get past .25 or so or it will kill the beneficial bacteria.

Anything above .25 is deadly. I would think not much bacteria if any could live in 2.0

It is an Engineer Gobie. I had 2 in my 55 then switched to a 125. They can get 12+" and love to dig. Reef safe, but may cover corals on the substrate with sand as they escavate. Definately need the live rock on the botton, then the sand to prevent any tumbling rocks.
