IMO Amquel is a must have in case of an emergency. You could use it in this case but it seems that your fish in weak and I don 't know how it would respond. That being said, you said that other fish are picking on it in the display so it comes down to which choice will give the fish a better...

Your time is running very short. Unfortunetly it may be too late. Put some LR in your QT - it will speed up the cycle quickly.

In all the research I've done, the suggested time to keep the display fish-free is 6-8 weeks. It has something to do with catching the ich that is in the very beggining stages of its life cycle.

Thanks for the info. Given this info, we did not visit an aquarium. I looked at a map of the NYC aquarium but it was very diverse (seals, penguins etc...) and the reef/fish section looked small. Thanks again.

I'm in NYC. What's the best aquarium to visit? I'm mostly just interested in sweet saltwater fish displays.

You could use LR from your display to speed up the cycle. Just monitor Amonia levels, if it gets over 1ppm do a water change to get it down otherwise you will be killing off the life on your LR. LR will significantly speed up the process.

Does anyone have a picture of one in their tank?

Top off with fresh water. Salt does not evaporate so if you where to top off with saltwater, you'd be increasing your salt level in the tank.
