fshhub.....Actually I bought them through SWF......SWF calls them Mexican or Trochus......they are very different from the Astrea turbos in size and shape. The ones they sent me are at least an inch in dia or larger, where as the turbos are usually around 1/2" The shells are more of a spiral...

The only bad thing about Trochus snails is they are underwater tanks......they plow over anything in their path....I have a few feather dusters that are always getting uprooted from their spots by these tanks. They are awesome algea eaters though!

I just ordered a duster cluster from SWF.Com and was wondering how you acclimate feather dusters. Is the trickle method adequate? Is it better to put them in the sand or on rock? Thanks

Get a few fighting concs are some trochus snails.....they eat that stuff up like no tommorrow.

I have a Lemon Peel and it is my favorite fish. I agree that there are prettier fish out there though. As far as picky eaters, I have heard that also. My particular one is not. It will eat anything I give it. I even feed it plain Jane flake food through an auto-feeder when I am on vacation...

There are a few products out there that are effective at getting rid of red slime. I used something called red slime remover a while back and have never seen it again. It is safe for inverts.

I agree with Sea Wraith.....if you do proper water changes and vacuum your substrate, CC is not a nitrate factory. I made the switch for cosmetic reasons. Had CC with no problems.

I agree with jwtrojan44, if everything is fine, I'd leave it. I made the switch because of nitrate build-up, and secondly for the different look. What I planned on being a 4 hour project took over eight. Was a stressful experience for both me and the fish. Looks great now and nitrates are...

I'd say you dont have a problem, and I would take the shrimp out. Looks like between the LS you added and your existing LR, you have enough bacteria to handle your load. It will only be a matter of time before your DSB is working. You'll be able to tell by the bubbles that start forming in...
