If you do have livestock you can stick the live rock in a big CLEAN trash can. Stick a powerhead or an airstone in the water for movement, and change the water every couple of days. It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, so you'll have to be patiant just like always with sw. HTH...

I am considering getting some of this when I convert my freshwater 55 to a salt water. I am curious as to whether or not it will become live sand, if I have lr. When I'm looking for sand does it matter if it's silica or argonite base. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you use RO/DI water, if not that could help. Make sure that you have the power head aimed so that there is water movement where the red algea is. HTH.

The sea clone is the skimmer I have, it seems to work well. I have to clean it out every day or two. The only complaint that I have is that it can sometimes be difficult to adjust correctly. All in all it does the job. ;)

Jawfish will make themselves a home usually by burrowing under the sand next to a rock. Also you need to make sure you have a tight fitting lid, because they will jump, especially when startled. HTH ;)

My skimmer is really touchy. If I replace evaporated water it messes with the skimmer and I have to readjust. Kind of a pain, but it has done a good job of skimming since day one. Oh, and I have my valve almost all the way open. HTH. ;)

What are all of your levels? If it's just been three weeks chances are your tank is not done cycling, which could be what killed your clowns. HTH. Good luck.

I would have to agree with papafish. Even though your using water from an established tank you still need to give the tank time to establish the bio-filtration (lr,dsb,bio wheel,etc.). Otherwise your putting your fish at risk. :)

Be sure that you are not using any kind of meds that are harmful to snails. I ran into the same problem, come to find out it was the ick treatment I was using. I now have a quarantine tank so no longer have this problem. HTH. :cool:

I am just curious whether or not it matters where exactly I place my power head. Right now I have it placed a little below midway through my tank towards the back. It is pointed at some of my live rock. Thank you for your help. :cool:

I just got a really big cup (32 or 44oz). Scooped it in, got it as close to the bottom as possible and slowly poured it out. I had no problem with clouding. I'm sure the ziplock bag will work just as well, if you would rather do it that way. :)

I use a sea clone and would assume it works well since I have to clean it out every day or two.

My spotted puffers have a green color to their eyes, but I didn't notice that they were cloudy. Mine love brine shrimp, that's their favorite. :)

One suggestion was for a snowflake moray. I would love to have one, but won't it get to big for my 37 gallon. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

It's the first fish for my newly cycled tank. I was wondering what fish would be good to keep with it. I would like to get a true perc and a scooter blennie. Any other suggestion for fish is appreciated. Thanks :) .

I originaly started out with a ls, cc mix with cc on top. After reading all of the post I decided to get more ls, but I didn't take out the cc I just put the ls on top. Is this ok or should I try to remove the cc. If I should remove it how would you suggest. Thanks for any help.
