I'm with Sammy. The waste the first fish produces should be neglible in that size tank so as long as fish are added slowly, the nitrifying bacteria should keep up. Once that is done you'll be ready to add a manatee(they are so cool)

They sell a little bubble trap thingy that helps some as well. THe bubbles drove me nuts so I tinkered with everything until it finally broke in and they went away.

I have many kinds of crabs. I know they are part of many peoples clean up crews but that is not really why I bought them. I like having the variety of creatures in there. Crabs are really fun to watch like when they fight and one rips off another's claw.

Definately find something you like now before you have a family and other obligations. If you start a career you don't like it will be hard to change once you are tied down and you'll be miserable. LSU has a marine biology program with a marine consortium on the gulf you may look into. HTH GL

lilbuddy you are right on the Calcium and kh. You want to keep those high for corals to build their skeletons but if you have a FO it's not as importnant. However, if you have LR and want corraline then you'll need to keep the levels high as well. HTH. GL.

Man you guys really are nerds. Why do you have pocket protectors? That is so low tech. I spray the inside of my pockets with silicone sealant and it's like a bedliner on a truck. Now I can keep my C3P0 head pen in the pocket of my garanimals and never worry about ruining my members only jackets;)

I have some GSP that spread like crazy and the new growth at the edges which are spreading are usually very pale purple to white in color and usually turns to purple as it grows.
