Yeah the LFS just said they were polyps but was wondering what type. They seem to extend much further than my other zoas.

I had that happening to my torch so I gave it a reef dip and that stopped the spreading of whatever it was that was making it die off. I completely lost one head but the dip saved the rest.

Why? The fish is fine. I gave to him my local fish store. It was actually rather humane if you can believe it.

I would cut the entire head and leave the stem (base). Cut it as high as you can. The base will grow into a new mushroom in no time, and you can net the cut shroom to your rock and have a big shroom almost instantly wherever you want to put it! Good luck.

If you want to catch those pesky Damsels, go fishing! I spent months trying with a net and trap with no luck. Today I caught the bad boy of my tank in under 10 seconds!
