    books and learning

I agree both books are excellent reads and informational to start. Then when you get to the point of actually buying fish "Marine Fishes 500+ essential to know aquarium Species" and companion Marine Invertebrates make good references.

    sweetlips dying

seriously sweetlips is difficult to raise. You should find someone to take it. Then you need to get your tank cleaned up. Your fish may be lacking oxygen if there is scum on the water surface. I have trouble with scum thanks to the Japanese beatles that get into the house in the fall they fall...

    chocolate chip stars

I just got one and it is fuzzy too. But of course my LFS is not ideal living conditions for anything. Will have to wait and see. They usually eat sponges. In captivity are opportunistic predator, eating corals, anemones etc.

Added more LS & LR will it cycle again?

You should be fine. The "live" sand in the bag just has bacteria in it But truly live sand would have worms, copopods etc. When you add the sand the water will cloud but dont worry it will clear overnight and shouldnt hurt the fish.

    Does sizereally matter??

sorry didnt mean to offend you. Your posting didnt have much info. I personnally like the little babies but if your other fish are older and bigger I would agree to wait and get a bigger one. That little guy will probably get chased and not be able to feed well.

did you check the parameters in the QT? if the ammonia and nitrites are down then the rocks will be ok. What exactly do you mean live sand? From a established tank? how long in transport? purchased from web?

Do you have to soak fish food in vitamins

If it is good quality food and not old it should be fine. Just make sure that you feed vegis to vegitarians and meats to carnivores. I only soak for new fish-finicky eaters, or if they are stressed.

    Does sizereally matter??

    Flashlight trick

I have both. Some very thin pink long worms. they come up in the sand like a nightcrawler. I see them mostly against the glass. The peanut worms are a bit thicker black and white in the rocks. The head looks like an alien with 5 tenticles around the end. the crab thing may have been a scud. to...

I used it when I moved into a bigger tank. I didnt want to have a big cycle since I had 4 fish already. It worked great. Maybe I would have been ok with dry over the old but I wasnt taking any chances. Shop around my LFS wanted$40 for 20 lbs. I got it for $30 in nearby town.

    Algea

how old is your tank, deep sand or not. how are your nitrates. They usually come in ten packs here. I would start with that. If they completely strip your tank you will either need to find new homes for some or supplement them. the blue leg crabs actually ate my red slime algae. I also bought a...

Where can I buy a maroon clown who likes anemones?

Their not stupid. It is no different than if your parents chose who you were going to marry. What is your purpose for pairing them. Do you plan to mate them? clowns are kinda unique in that they are all born one ---. Male if my memory serves correctly. as they age the larger dominant one...

    White spot help

flatworms are usually brown. if they move they are some type of microfauna either copopods or aphipods. if they are half coil shaped and don't move they are mini feather dusters. in most cases they are good food for your fishes.
