    Picaso hiding

I'm not trying to scare you but your sounding like me a week ago. I would try to flush him out to see if he is stuck. even if it means moving a rock to free him. Or use some food to coax himout. you need to see if he is stuck or just shy. mine wasn't between 2 rocks, rather a hole inside a...

    Picaso hiding

Going into a hole to sleep is normal, but not all day. I bought a hum-hum trigger 2 weeks ago, and he died in 4 days. The whole 4 days he had been swimming and eating and his color was fine. Every night when the white lights went out, he immediately slipped into his hole. On the 5th day, I...

why are there bubbles in fuge?

why are there so many bubbles in my fuge? If the caulerpa is producing oxygen, I wouldn't expect it to be actual bubbles. They are on the plants, on the sand, even on the crab. Plus I get a lot of green hair in the fuge, but not in the main tank. I did a search here and everyones fuge was so...

    A fuge

let me clarify. I just recently set up a fuge. I have a 20g, with a 180 pump going up to it. Then a syphon going out. Its hard explain without seeing it, but as long as the syphon tube is larger than the incoming, the syphon will match it flow,(the syphon cannot suck more than the incoming...

:) After a 4 month cycle, I finally have clean water. So the other day I bought my first fish. I bought 1 domino damsel and 6 turbo snails and 6 scarlet hermits. 1 of my snails isn't moving around very much. I don't know if he's sick. Other than that it's great. Thanks to all on this forum...

    New tank flow questions....

I had mine drilled last year, I did the 2 in the corners. But I have to say, I like the one in the center better. I have 2 stacks of rock to cover them with the center of the tank wide open. I would rather have 1 stack of rock in the center of the tank and have the ends clear. Matt

    cleanup crew vs. nitrites

hello everyone, Are clean-up crews as sensitive to trItes as fish are? my 5 month cycle is finally nearing it's end. my nitrites aren't quite at zero yet, I know its too early for fish, but is it too early for a clean up crew? I'm starting to collect a lot of brown algea. If so, what is the...

    Filter on or off?????

I recently went through the same thing. I turned everything off to let it settle faster. The problem was, after it all settled, I had a fine layer of silt on top of my sand. Every little movement in the tank(i.e. powerheads, cleaning, setting up LR) all caused huge clouds of the silt. I...

    Still no Ammonia spike

hello everyone, I have had my LR in the tank for 2 months now. The whole time I had 0 ammonia and NitrAtes of 4.0. So I finally bought 3 shrimp and through them in 2 weeks ago. I just tested the water and realized I was doing the AMM test wrong. I corrected it and it is still Ammonia 0...
