As far as it mixing in the tank, it depends on how much flow you have to stir it around. Turn on all your powerheads. But don't get used to mixing it in the tank once you get fish in there, get lots of buckets for that. I would think you could add sand whenever you like, the sand takes a couple...

I agree with ophiura, you still need to cycle. Just because it is a big tank, the cycle is to create the good bacteria and maybe you won't see a spike, but you still need the bacteria. I cycled my 110gal and ended up killing a green chromis because I put him in too soon.

I do have a lot of rockwork for the tang, maybe I'll give it a shot. As far as wrasses, I haven't thought of those, they definately swim a lot which is what I want. Thanks for your inputs. matt

actually it's not so much hair algea but green slimey algea, do LMB eat that kind. And it is really bad. It covers the sand the rock and even all of the plants leaves.

Yes I have thought of a gramma, also an anthias. But I wanted one that was a little bigger and would swim around a lot.

sounds like you have pods, not babies. They are little micro organisms that grow in your tank, they're good, do a search for isopods. matt

copapods, they are good for your tank. it means the tank is healthy.
