    Inverts at 1.018...why???

Well I'm never buying inverts from my LFS again. I did some reading the past two days and it is too stressful on inverts to keep them at 1.018. I took 4 hours to acclimate, but found that is too fast to increase from 1.018 to 1.025.

    Help Fuge Lighting Expert..3500k

I had a little red slime with the 6500k blue/white. I changed bulbs and just increase my water flow "slightly" and it is gone. And now I'm in macro heaven.

    i am so very close

If the cheap water purifier you are referring to is the TWP-tap water purifier I wouldnt. They leach impurities back into the water. I've used them in the past and would link two of them into a chain as a safety measure. It would be safer to just purchase your RO/DI water. Water purity is vital...

Bang, Tried it and it works great. I cant keep up with the growth of my macro. I was worried that I might get hair or cyno, but it never happened. It grows 3X as fast as when I had the higher kelvin blue/white bulb.

    Inverts at 1.018...why???

I purchased a cleaner shrimp last week from my LFS. I acclimated it as I usually do, but made the stupid mistake of not check my LFS' salinity. The shrimp died the next morning (1st death on this tank). I went yesterday and purchased another shrimp, but checked the salinity. Its was 1.018. These...

    Danger!

Would the toxin produced by these stress other corals? I have a hammer coral that has been very stress since I added some encrusting polyps. I couldnt find the cause..I tested my water quality and everything was perfect, but I noticed coral slime in that area of my tank but couldnt narrow the cause.

    Red Chili Coral????

Nice coral..but you will only enjoy it at night. The polyps dont normally open during the day. Care is easy to moderate. The only problem is with non-photosynthetic corals. You need to feed the tank more often to provide a food supply for them.

    Can an anemone harm corals?

Yes they can... I added a BTA and he liked the spot my 3 year old lobophyllia had. When I arrived home from work he had killed 1/2 of him. I moved the lobo, but it was downhill from there. I new the risks, but thought I could manage it.

    24/7 lighting necessary???

On a another thread it was mentioned that 24/7 lighting might not be necessary on a refugium to keep caulpera from going sexual. I have never researched this, I just followed the opinions of others. Now I am wondering if it is necessary. Has anyone read or done research on this?

Does anyone know what this is?

It's hard to tell in the picture, but I would bet it is not aptasia. I've dealt with the aptasia nightmare in the past. It looks more like a different type of anenome. If you could post a better picture it would help in identification.
