    RO water??

It'll be fine. I use a 75 gallon storage tank for my water. I take out what I need for top offs and changes and let my RO/DI unit fill it back up. I don't use a powerhead or agitate it in anyway. It's RO/DI water. There are no nutrients in it. It won't go stagnant. Just keep the lid on it...

    Skimmer ideas?

I used to run an ASM mini g. Pros: - Does a decent job of pulling crap from the water - Doesn't require much maintenance - Small footprint - Not too pricey Cons: - The pump sometimes would get an air bubble around the impeller and wouldn't pump. It was hard to get rid of the bubble since the...

Oh. It does come across a little harsh if you don't take the title of the thread into account. My bad.

Its my birthday! I need some reccomendations for a good protien skimmer *

I've heard good things about octo's, but haven't used one myself. I used to have an ASM skimmer that did a decent job of pulling crap out of the water, but I had some issues with the pump that came with it. I don't know if I'd recommend it to others. I'm currently running a Precision Marine...

    HOUSE

You really should hire an inspector. There could very well be some massively expensive problems with the house. It would be a shame to buy a house, move in and have it condemned a week later because of massive termite damage. My house had some serious problems with the wiring. The inspector...

Feeding frozen Mysis and Formula 1???

I really don't like the gel binder in formula 1. I used exactly one cube of it before deciding I hated it. The rest of the package has been sitting in my freezer for a year. I do use their "Prime Reef" though. I've also had pretty good success using H2O Life products. I use their frozen...

    LFS skimming phosban?

Anyone know how full the 150g phosban containers should be? I seem to recall my previous containers not being completely full, but the two that I got today were only half full. Is that normal or is my LFS ripping me off?

    sunburnt sps

I did read an older article by him last night that said some people have reported coral's having negative reactions when GFO is used. It sounded like hear-say to me. He theorized that the rapid drop in phosphates caused by the GFO could possibly cause a reaction. He suggested easing into it...

    the hockey thread

Oh. I watched the flyers beat up on the leafs tonight on gamecenter live. It's nice to be able to watch hockey again. Even if it is just preseason. My gamecenter live account still seems to be active from last year. Unless they auto renewed on my credit card. I had to watch it on my...

    the hockey thread

Sweatervest, I don't think the Panthers actually have fans. I moved down here from Philly a few years ago. So I'm a Flyers fan. Most hockey fans down here are transplants from the north. Usually there are more people cheering for the away team at Panther games. At least the tickets are dirt...

    coral feeding questions

My duncans are pretty good at catching food on their own. They do seem to be happier when I spot feed them once or twice a week, but it's not absolutely needed. Mine have gone months without being spot fed.
