My understanding is that supermarket pickling lime is popular b/c it is cheap, not necessarily high quality? But then again, it also comes down to does it really matter?

I'm perhaps going to give kalk dripping a try and wanted some opinions on brands of kalk. What brands are good (purity, etc)? Not necessarily what you use, but what is known to be of quality? Am I making a bigger deal out of it than it needs? I always like to research things to death before...

I think you would be surprised...even the thicker based ones are still pretty easy to snap with your hands. It's probably the easiest and cleanest way to do it.

99.99% sure it is not cyano. I also would never put any chemicals in the tank to solve the algae problem. You have to fix the problem.
