    Blue Ring

Heres the problem with the fact that they don't attack things that are bigger than they are, if you're in the ocean they will swim away because you're huge, but that finger they see in the tank is no bigger than an oyster. There are very few confirmed instances of them biting people when in...

Advice please. MODS or Pros Help.

Well I wouldn't blame the crushed coral because it's been used successfully for many more years than the now popular sand bed. Usually when fish are ok but new ones die it's usually 1 of 2 things; the nitrates, which the used rock and cc may now be holding have built up so slowly that the...

    experts only please

There are 2 kinds of feather dusters, the tiny ones you find clustered together stay about that size. You don't have to feed them. The colony will spread according to the amount of food they can extract from the water.

    air bubbles through powerheads?

According to the Hagen sales rep I knew, the only reason PH's have that airline is because people don't understand how oxygen gets in the water.

    Blue Ring Octopus

Yikes, he's huge!!!! Wow man, if that guy was captured that size no way I'd have him in my house!!! Start putting some bricks on the top of your tank and seal the whole thing up with silicon 'cuz he will find a way out. He could escape from any hole the size of an airline tube. Then you step on...

    Red slime!!!

It's usually a phosphate problem, since you're keeping corals I will rule out lack of proper lighting as a factor.

Anyone ever had side effects from Amquel?

Amquel does have a shelf life. You probably added it because of an ammonia problem, which is most likely the reason for the stress that brought on the ich.

    If you have 384watts isn't really 192w?

Yes obviously you don't count the wattage of a light that isn't on, but why do "I" only use one type at a time? People do turn on the actinics an hour or so before the 10Ks and leave them on an hour later, but I don't know many that don't have them both on the rest of the time.

    Need A Replacement Tank!!!leaking 150 Gallon Aquarium

Yeah, hard with a sand bed. If you don't have the $s for a new tank move everything into something else. It's a pain but you'd have to do that if you got a new tank anyway. Rinse it out good and tear out all the old seal and put in some new stuff. You can get a big caulk gun sized tube at home...

    the worst christmas gift !!!!

For my 21'st birthday the only thing I got was 1 unwrapped present. My father left me a carton of cigarettes on the kitchen table. One year when I was about 12 or so, I asked for a remote control car, I got a wind up car stamped out of tin that would turn around when it got to the end of the table.

poked by my long spined urchin

Well if you didn't have an allergic reaction the last I wouldn't worry. I used to get nailed at least once a month when I worked at a distributor. I reached into a to get my net out of 50 breeder with 200 of them in it and got a spine under my fingernail once.

    Need A Replacement Tank!!!leaking 150 Gallon Aquarium

Just buy a tube of sealant. At the warehouse we used to fix tanks with the fish in them at least once a week. Don't pull any of the old stuff off, just lay a bead overlapping the leaking area. The water pressure will push the sealant in right where it's leaking.

No, it will act as a hair algae grower. UV's are more expensive to make than buy.
