btw, I just ordered a 2x150 sunpod for my 55g tank yesterday (for $450 at a website i cant mention). Im so excited now that i heard all the great reviews. I think that 300 hqi is fine for anything in a 55g, but im not an expert. I dont think you need 500 watts hqi.

for anyone who's still reading, I just ordered the current sunpod. 2x150 hqi and leds. I'm still getting over the price ($450), all I have is a summer job, but i already ordered it.

how long do you do a fw dip for?

i'm in the smae situation now. would i be ok with t5 4x54 or would i need 6x54 for a bta. its a 55gal, 21 inches deep.

for my sump/fuge, would i be able to just use one of those lights that you put in a closet and change the bulb to a 6700k?

I just connected a mag 7 to my 3/4 inch return line. you can't find a converter from 1/2 to 3/4 in home depot or lowes. go to plumbing store with the pump and the overflow and just say you need to connect this to this. that's what i did.

ok, since I want to be able to keep calms, sps, and an anemone, if i returned the coralife I would get t5s (mh isn't in the budget), would I be able to keep that stuff with a 6x54 t5, what about4x54, I wouldn't mind ifg I could only have that stuff near the top.

I know that you can do what you want since its your tank, but the blue (regal?) tang will get to about 10 inches, and will be unsuitable for a 2.5-3' long tank. I really advise that you bring it back to the lfs.
