new coral- help w/ the name?

Good ol optomistic sammy..... J/K I know he's being realistic. Do your best. You know what to try to do to feed them. Maybe if you tried hard. Try this. Get a syringe and mix the phyto and zoo in a little water. Then gently spray it at the colony so it gets first dibs. This will release...

Got my LR - How am I doin so far?

Thankgod4fish KH is only applicable in maintaining a stable ph. You do have to raise the ph on your own. Once it gets there the kh will help keep it there.... I think :).....

Blue Tang nipping on my close brain coral

Hmmm. Thats so weird. He shouldn't be doing it. I wonder if the tang has a taste for the zooxanthellae in the brain..... Can you move either to another tank? Maybe seperating them for a time so the brain can heal may help. Try another thread again. Maybe someone else ahs a thought. Name...

Interesting. The most beautiful anemone i've ever seen was a blue tentacle anemone. Had a pinkish/reddish base like the purple tentacled ones and the blue went from a very light blue to a neony bright blue at the tips. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. The lady who bought it was a regular and knew...

    goniapora???

Wow. My guess it they are so easy to get since they are free form and usually not attatched to rockwork? Is that right? Makes no sense to sell something that dies. I have to wonder why they get them in. I know half of them die in their tanks. They must be getting a great "deal" on them if...

Blue Tang nipping on my close brain coral

Weird no its not normal. They are completely reef safe. There must be something there he likes. Food ending up there? Did you add the tang or brain first? Maybe he doesn't like the brain in that spot?

    time to vent once again

YOu paid 30 for the sixline? they are no more than 20 here.... Strange.... Bubbles are realatively easy to keep anything messing with it? How long have you had it? What light and place in the tank. I do know they don't need super amounts of light, and not alot of water flow.

    Mean Clarkii Clown

If you can move the rock work around some that may help. Change up the enverionment. Try and keep the anemone in the same place though. They don't like to be moved which is the issue here...... Thats about all you can do. Your tank is quite large. Give them some time they will sort it out...

    am I loco?

No its not crazy. You could try just adding the rock next time. Especially if it doesn't smell. You just may be dealing with some sort of invert that survived.... And the rock will become live over time. Ive done it before. Youd never know a couple pieces i have were once barren.

    How many Sand for 150?

One more thing. If you like sand go more. If you like semishallow go less. I would get about 3 inches at least to help stabalize the rock you put in. Keep in mind fish love to dig and move sand so it may bunch up in places. Same thing when yo ustart running powerheads....

I shee I shee, me not having a problem EVER with algae :) I think it starts with with thos initial conditions anyways. I do know ALOT of people run into it by overfeeding and no clean up crew. Time and again that was the culprit with saltwater. They may not think they are though..... YAY 900!
