    Safe Starfish?

Acclimation is key. Carnivorous stars are much easier to take care of but you can't keep them with any corals or other inverts.

Need info. on sea apple cucumber

Considered the most toxic of the cucumbers. They grow pretty darn big too, need a very large tank. There's one the size of a 10lb bowling ball at my LFS in a 580 gallon tank. I'd love to have one, they are beautiful. Not worth the risk though.

    TOADIES are back

Wow.. one of those "My opinion is superior to yours" threads. Metallica was revolutionizing heavy music while the Toadies were in diapers. And if you came from Palo Pinto, you'd play rock-a-billy too. He has a unique voice, and Toadies is better than any Burden Bros. songs I've heard. Whatever...

    Dying

As long as your water quality is good and you have the proper equipment in place you have nothing to worry about. Those type leathers do this periodically to remove any buildup on them.

    octopus with coral?

Depends on the corals. Nothing stingy, so that rules out LPS. Softies are fine. Keep in mind, bright lighting that most corals require can cause the octopus to hide all the time. There's always an exception to the rule. Just remember, octopuses are very curious, and they are sometimes...

    peppermint shrimp question

If they go into shock and die that quick it's probably a salinity issue. Next time you're at the store you should ask what the salinity of their invert tanks are and compare it to yours. I've had the same issue with cleaner shrimp.

    Bad News Please Read This

Anyone see the report that stated Al Gore used enough electricity in his house a month or two ago to power over 200 average households? How's that for an "inconvenient truth"?

No doubt mankind has contributed to a lot of natures problems, the majority of natures problems really. But Earths climate has shifted occasionally throughout history, even long before we began creating industrial waste. As others said, nature will balance itself out. Some creatures will adapt...

    Octopus Care 101

Just to add to this: I have found that Abdopus aculeatus aka the "Bi-pedal Octopus" is fairly well-mannered in a peaceful community tank. I decided to test the theory myself after following the experience of another keeper who had an A. aculeatus in a tank with seahorses, sailfin tang, and a...
