    Crushed Coral or Sand?

An easy way to do it would be to do a water change and just syphon the CC out with the water.

It hasn't lost its' crown. The whole worm is completely engulfed in sand. The crown was protruding yesterday but today it is completley hidden.

    adding salt water

You could always fill your tank the rest of the way and then just add the amount of salt that you need. :D If you have a powerhead, turn that on. It will keep your water circulating.

What do you feed your fish?

For the fish, I feed mine live black worms, live brine shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, Omega One marine flakes, Sera granulated food, and for the Xenia and feather duster, I give them Kents' Phytoplex and Micro-vert. Anything else you might suggest I also try?

    Growing Pains

Well when you buy your new heater, spend a few extra bucks and buy a titanium one. You wont have to worry about it exploding. Make sure you buy one bigger than what you need. It wont have to turn on as often. Another thing, buy a power strip with a built in GFCI, ground fault circuit...

    Anyone have a refugium?

Can anyone here with a refugium explain how it is set up? Where it is in your system? Is it in your wet/dry filter? in your sump? or in a separate container?

    Anyone have a scooter blenny?

I bought one the other day and for the first 3 days he was all over my tank, searching the rock for pods. I have some pods and algae on order, it should be here tomorrow. The last two days, he stayed half buried in the sand. The only reason he moved today is because I did a waterchange and...

Leak in tank -How do i fix???

Are you sure it is a leak? Sometimes we spill water when we stick our arms in the tank and the water runs down the glass. When the water evaporates, it leaves salt residue along the bottom of the glass along the trim.

    Removing bio-media from filter?

Pelena, just so you don't misunderstand me. I am not talking about the sponges or the fliter cartridges. Even though they are somewhat bio-media, they are still considered mechancial filters. Those I would keep and clean just as suggested. What I am referring to is, some people put addition...

    Nitrate Question

some people have bio balls and/or ceramic rings in their HOB filters. That is what I mean by Bio-media, not your filter cartridge.

    OK,I'm stumped

I shouldn't have cycled again. All I really did was add extra water. It was the same rock and water and fish all placed in a bigger tank. I tested the water three ways, the water in the tank, newly mixed salt water, and the RO water, fresh from the LFS. The water from the tank tested as follows...

    Nitrate Question

If you have bio-media in your filter, it will create excess nitrates. You have enough bio-media with the live rock.

    OK,I'm stumped

I had a 12 gallon nano tank set up for 3 months. This past weekend I transferred everything into the 45 gallon tank. The only thing that chnged is a different brand of salt. I was using Serasalt but they were out of it so I bought a 5 gallon bucket of Crystal Sea. I also just did a test on the...
