I would do a 20% change today, then another one in 2 days. Then maybe repeat the water change 3 days after that. Are you using RO water or tap?

The Remora is an excellent choice. Remember, there are other good skimmers out there that aren't as expensive as the Remora. Just do your research and you'll be fine.
