    ich question- answer needed.

Beth or anyone- If you dip infected fish in freshwater for 5 minutes and them place them into normal salinity while leaving the display fishless for 6 weeks, will that do the trick? Fish were already dipped in f/w and are doing fine in normal salinity/clean 55g- Q tank. Quick response w/b...

    Algae sheets for yellow tang

it's ok to leave it all day for grazing. be sure to change it every day if there is left over as it does tend to decompose and eventually smell. go the nori route....much better on the pocket and it's the same thing you are getting - the LFS.

keeping emperor angel or koren angel

emperor should not be considered hardy. I've had little luck w/ them. seem to do better when you get them as juvi's. the only problem is that you are not gauranteed that they their adult colors will fully mature. especially the face mask. koran hardier but emperor more striking in appearance...

    Algae sheets for yellow tang

best thing is to go to chinese deli and get nori--seaweed sheets used for sushi. Usual color is green and is much cheeper then LFS.

    majestic angelfish?

HAve had mine for 4+ years now and he's great! Eats like a pig. Is hardy. About 5 inches now...kind of a slow grower. Max he'll get is 8-10 inches in tank. Great fish that adapted well from the begining. WOuld recommend.

junkiebeas- how are the tangs in your 55? cleaner wrasse seems to be quite busy. New fish

definately not a true pair as there is too much of a size differential and I don't think the female is mature enough to breed. In any event they do get along really well and it's quite neat to see them together. I have no expectations of breeding just neat to have 2 of them in the same tank. As...

    Something Blue

everthing is accurate accept I would not consider them as "easy". they are very prone to ich and stress easily. &0g may also be a bit on the small size for a fish as active and big as the hippo.

    Fish selection 30 gallon

as raw fish decomposes it creates amonia which is needed to start the cycle. However agree that you should buy some more L/r AND ALLOW IT TO CYCLE THE TANK FOR YOU. aS FAR AS FISH ....RG and firish s/b ok. you need to wait 3-4 months or so before you can add pygmy. needs a more established tank...

    protien skimmer

I have a 55g on the bottom of a 125g. There is not enough clearence to allow me to put a hang on skimmer. Collection cup will not fit. As such I'm forced to go w/ an itnernal skimmer. No sump. Any suggestions on a good internal skimmer for a 55g? Any experience w/ visi jet internal skimmer?

    New fish

I will be putting a pair of scribble angels(male is 6 inches, female is 3 inches) and a pair of true percs in my 125g on Friday. really looking forward to it. They've been q'd and ready to go. Wish me luck.

    Something Blue

Neat tank. I think if you add the yellow tang and a damsel, you'll be overstocked. The heniochus will outgrow your tank as it is. I would pesonally hold off on any tangs. If you want some yellow and blue in a small fish, try the yellow belly blue damsel. They are also on the "tame side " as far...

Hey Jw and others.....I'm cautiously trying to get back into it. I am not getting the powder blue....too risky(ich magnet and all). I am going w/ the scribble and majestic in 125g, along with 2 percs, and a yellow belly damsel....that's it. We'll see how it goes. as stated majestic about 5...
