I had the UV on for 3 years..no ich. took it off about 3 months ago because of the reasons you state and I now get ich. There is certainly a correlation. I never saw an appreciable difference in the mushrooms and leathers. is 3 weeks minimum in hypo? Thanks again Beth.

Please provide demensions of tank, especially the length. How long has it been up? How old is the tank? Do the cabinets on bottom open? WHat type of wood is cabinet? How old are the fish? How big are they? How long have you had them? WHat type of skimmer do you have? Filter? I live in jersey too.

They can be difficult at times and I for one have had little luck with these beauties. I suspect because they are in such high demand and difficult to catch in the wild, that suspicious capture methods are used(Cyanide) which leads to their demise. Have had much better luck with Coral beauties.

You are overstocked and will unfortunately have big problems if you don't depopulate. Do you have a larger tank currently in cycle mode? Tank is too small for a hippo. CAn get away w/ YT if you de-poulate.
