    fish never just "hanging out"

buy a voltmeter. They're only like 15 bucks. I had current running through my water a few months ago and lost a number of fish because of it. It's definitely a good thing to have lying around to check periodically....My clowns do a lot of swimming back and forth too, I'm not too concerned with...

    One minute of your time?

(and I deleted the double post) Thanks, I didn't even realize I had made two...that's where the confusion with the unclickable link came from I'm sure. When I was trying to edit it I must have accidentally just made a new one.

    One minute of your time?

Would some of you be willing to do me a favor and take this quick survey for a class project? It's literally 3 multiple choice questions. It probably won't even take a whole minute. I don't want to give away what the class is because I don't want it to affect the outcome of the survey. After the...

    Water Level in Sump

Great. I did that, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some other reason to keep it low.

    Re-Cycling RO Waste

How would you recycle it? I feel so bad every time I turn my unit on, but I don't want to risk not using it. I live in an apartment so I don't have a yard and my washer is down 3 flights of stairs so using it for either of those is not an option. I'd love to run it back through the unit a few...

    Water Level in Sump

I've seen a lot of pictures of people's sumps and they seem to be filled about 2/3rds of the way or less many times. Is there any reason to leave the sump that low, or is it okay to fill it almost to the top, leaving just enough room for the extra water to drain if the pump is unplugged. Thanks.

Cookie Recipe Suggestions for Picky Eater

So I've been dating my boyfriend for a little less than 3 months and I'm not quite sure what to get him for valentines. He doesn't like presents that aren't useful and he's pretty picky in general, so I think I'm going to bake him cookies. Does anyone have any awesome recipes for someone who is...

    Valentines Day gift

On the one had, neither of them really say "I love you"...but I'd be offended to get only lingerie on valentines day. To me, lingerie screams "it doesn't really matter how I feel about you, I just want you to look good before I rip all your clothes off..." I'd rather get jewelry out of the 2...

    Is this sealant toxic?

Anyone? We're going to need to start gluing soon :S

OH you have got to be kidding me!

eh, it'll be fine. He'll drop it eventually.

    Is this sealant toxic?

I'm going to build a sump today and I bought some medium clear pvc cement. It says it can come into contact with potable water. Do you think it's safe to use in my tank? If not, what can I use? Thanks for any input.

Urgent Question: Tank in Danger of Collapsing?

I've noticed that I only get salt creep around my in-tank PS, due to the bubbles. Yeah, I get that too because my water return splashes...but what's happening at the bottom of my tank doesn't seem to be coming from any sort of splashing.

Urgent Question: Tank in Danger of Collapsing?

I just edited my post above to mention about the water level. It's about an inch to an inch and a half from the top of the tank, but some water could be dripping during water changes...Maybe I should tape some paper towel to the glass up top and see what accumulates (if anything). Not exactly...

Urgent Question: Tank in Danger of Collapsing?

I am taking this seriously. I live in an apartment, I'd be paying a lot more than $1000 is there was a significant leak...That being said, I'd rather not shell out the money and perform the manual labor if it's not necessary...The salt build-up isn't lowering the water level at all and the water...

Urgent Question: Tank in Danger of Collapsing?

It's definitely coming from the bottom, not the top...In fact, when I touched the salt, there was a tiny bit of water in it yesterday. I've wiped it off a number of times and it always comes bac in the same spot. Do I need to get a new tank?

Urgent Question: Tank in Danger of Collapsing?

I've noticed recently that salt is forming on the outside of my tank on the bottom rim of the glass. At first it was just the left-hand front corner, but now it's on the right also. What is this from? Is this something I can stop from happening or do I need to get a new tank? How urgent do you...
