I agree a 65g tank would be your best bet...it takes a 36" fixture for most 65g's ( i would know this is my current setup) and i recently just upgraded to a single HQI MH pendant 250w 20k and wow what a difference from PC & T5's lol ....and im only using 1 bulb, imagine the growth you would have...

You should check into the greyish areas more closely bc it could be a hydrogen/sulfide problem which would indefinitely crash your tank ...it happened to me about a year ago and will never go for the DSB again...one way to test for it is pull some sand from the bottom and see if smells like...

I have a Aquarium Pharm test kit and i get 500 everytime, but that cant be because my PH is a stable 8.2 all the time....I think this test kit is no good either, no signs in my tank that its that high anyway so idk.... :thinking:

The Green Nepthea is a very rare coral so its a sure bet that if you dont have MH lighting its not goin to do well and if you do it doesnt sound promising (sorry to sound negative)...whats your water paramters look like? Have any of your other corals been showing signs like these? Ive wanted...

dont touch it.... I had one for 4 days and it never looked right so i played with its position many times and the worst of the worst happened it stressed out and died...let it be and it will come around just watch for dark spots on it, thats what i started noticing when it was dying,

I have a 65g with PC's and 2-T5s and my corals are doing good...LPS, mushrooms, leathers etc...but in terms of spreading colonies for ex zoos and such you need MH lighting to really get things goin...My friend and I both bought pagoda cups at the same time, his is almost doubled in size skeletal...

Get a lamark Angel, reef safe and very very peaceful curious fish....

Nice, seems like the lighting bc my friend and i both purchased a pagoda cup and its an amazing coral but his almost doubled in size with his MH and mine blooms huge but hasnt had much growth skeleton wise...weird... :notsure:

It comes and goes...gets very annoying and i have figured that it comes from low wattage lighting ( i run pc & t5 ) ....also more flow helps to leave the sand clean so you might want to try that...sand sifters will only do so much, i have sand sifter snails and starfish and doesnt do much bc the...

Got mine after seeing how amazing the color was with this fish....Mine is not territorial at all and loves to eat flake and pellet, did make a cave for himself under some rocks and is very curious, need alot of rockwork though.... The first 2 weeks i got him i thought he died bc he never came...

Do you think the lighting makes the difference in terms of how fast they spread?? I havent had any success of any zoos spreading at all....Running combo PC & T5s.....Water is fine and have had other softies attach from rocks when propogating....

Dont mean to sound off here but with a 55g shouldnt you be looking into a wet/dry system first before trying corals....Maybe its me but ive done the bio wheel thing in my old 30g and it was fine, than tried it with my 65g and had myself a nightmare and a half....Now that i have my wetdry system...

I retro-fitted my new canopy with my old 48" PC fixture....It now houses 4 PC bulbs in total and one VHO strip light bulb...I am running currently 3-12ks and 1-acntics with the addition of 1 extra acntic from my strip light.....

I think i might have posted before on this matter, but cant find the post so sorry in advance...but my real question is whats the best 55w PC bulb for mixed reefs?? (leathers, mushrooms, and some LPS like frogspawn and hammer and pagoda cup) I have 12ks now and they seem very yellowish, i used...

forgot to mention that hammers do not like that much flow, as well as frogspawn but my frogspawn is in a higher flow area more so than the hammer and the hammer seems to be doing alot better, (opening up fuller).....

I have about 250+ watts of PC's and my hammer is doing great, I also agree it needs less light than frogspawn bc i also have one of those....Here is a pic of my 2 hammers (one on the back wall is a branching green and the other is a small rainbow hammer)!!!
