soory everyone i forgot about this thread. i used a dremel with a diamond bit. i laid it in the tub and made the water cover about an 1/8" over the glass to keep it cool while cutting. I would be worried about drilling big tanks with a dremel just because you cant just get another.

no i am in the process of setting up a 20L sps tank. and was wondering if it woulld be a good piece of equip to have. if you wnat to take a look at the specs its under my other thread about drilling my tank. which i just did yesterday feel free to make any comments thankls rob

The title says it all. Do they help alot. I was lookingat the two litlle fishes Phos reactor and seems like a good product. anyone have experiance with them? R they for reducing nuciense algae? Thanks Rob

So i finally did it. i drilled my 20L future SPS nano. 6 holes to be exact. cost me about 25 dollars for all three holes, and the LFS wanted 12 per hole with no gaurantee about cracking it. Specs 20L Display 2- 1" Drains 1- 3/4" return by QO 3000 1- 1" CL Drain 2- 3/4" return Split by SQWD...

Is there a company who make a complete nano cal. reactor. i am in the process of setting my nano SPS tank up but have yet to find one that is made for a nano. If you know of any could you please suggest the brand. Thankx

the only reason why i decided not to use a mag is becasue it says not to use externally in a marine aquarium. also i have heard that they leak most of the time and it takes 2-3 of them b4 you get one that is sealed correctly

I am using a QO 2200 for a CL pump running externally and was wondering how to prime the thing. I will have (1) 1" intake and (2) 3/4" returns. If i completely submerge the drains and returns, and blow water into it would it prime it?

I would do as Whitey suggested and do a freshwater dip. You can leave them in for a coupla minutes and they should be fine. Ive done it many times to take off flatworms. Just becasue you have a sixline doesnt mean that you dont have flatworms. You shoulda seen my tank after i used Flatworm...

i am building some overflows for my 20l and was wondering where on the net i could get blue or black acrylic? I thought about clear but it would just get nasty and i think a color would look better. Ive checked at Lowes, Home Depot, so could someone please point me in the right direction...

cool sounds really good, i will deff decide soon, but i still have alot to buy before i worry about lights, ie. LR, pumps, plumbing, dosing stuff, DIY ATO u know what i mean. I will keep the flec and ballast in mind tho. Do you know of a cheap way to do an ATO system. Cheap and Easy Again...

yeah dremel bits are everywhere. i understand about the tuning by sound thing. after the 5th hole i would just turn it on and for some reason it always seemd perfect. Do you think a 250 Watt Halide will be too much on a 20 long if it was 12" off the water?

how many rpm is ur rotozip? i use my dremel at about 20,000 rpm. I just got finished drilling the six holes and if i dare say so myself, they look prty darn good. sure beats 10$ a piece at the LFS w/ no garauntee about cracking. Even if they crack the tank on the sixth hole you have to pay...

nope all hole in back, not sure why but it is my preference. i am using a Dremel Pro - 30,000 rpm. and a dremel diamond point bit. I have already drilled about 7 practice holes in a 35 tall that was leaking and i did not crack it. Drilling is very easy, use the highest speed, and go slow...

o and once the tank is setup i want to find some Neon GSP, like EfishNseas, and superglue it to the bottom. Hopefully it will make a carpet. Not sure this is possible and thought it would look cool tho
