The blue throat is going to be much more compatable in a reef tank. Nigers can displasy extreme aggression once they put some size on, whereas blue throats are a more mild mannered fish. If you're setting up a reef, I'd go with the BT over the niger.

More than likely a bristle worm of some sort. Harmless. You likely have many more. They are good detrivores and will help clean up uneaten food.

I'd suggest a couple of big water changes using aged/aerated saltwater. 15-20 gallons would not be too much, if only to get the trates down. Have you checked your pH? The twitching behavior could be indicative of parasites. Have you seen other symptoms of ich (white spots)?

They're both pretty fish in their own right. The Personifier is a hardier fish if that's important to you.
