only fish count towards you bioload?

Inverts and corals do not apply to the same bioload principles as fish. Most inverts you add are of some benefit of the waste removal process so they equal out.

    Anemones and light?

IMO, in your set up there is no clown hosting anemone that would survive with that low lighting in a 92g tank.

75g tank. thinking about a pair of clowns and an anenome

A fish only tank is fine around 2.5 but a reef tank does better on the higher end of the scale, IME.

75g tank. thinking about a pair of clowns and an anenome

8.1-8.4 PH is fine. Alkalinity is 7-10 dkh or 2.5-3.6 meq/l depending on which measurment you use.

    Pair two Clown fish

She is going to show her dominance and he will have to submit. As long as she is not doing anything that you feel is hurting or will kill him then you just have to let them do their thing. You should see him convulsing or gyrating whenever she comes around him and you know he is submitting to...

75g tank. thinking about a pair of clowns and an anenome

Looks like you are headed in the right direction. PH and alkalinity are also important with anemones. I would suggest waiting a little while longer and letting your tank mature more just to ensure stability and keep a check on the parameters. Whatever you decide, good luck.

How often do you feed your BTA

I am of the school of thought that less is more if you have intense lighting or not. I don't feed mine purposely. They are opportunistic and will catch a snack or the clowns will drop something for them. Anemones use a great amount of energy trying to consume food, digest food and expel waste ...

75g tank. thinking about a pair of clowns and an anenome

    1) Pretty much any fish will go with the less aggressive clown species(Percula, Ocellaris and others that I am not as familiar with). 2) Decide what you want out of your anemone. Like, do you want it to live in your rock work or would you rather it be in your sandbed? As far as movement, they...

Alright Boys and Girls, Sep has a tank question...

Get it back in place and put some JB Weld on it. You can get it at Walmart or any local hardware store. Cures in just a few minutes and it is thick so it won't drip in your tank.

    Coral and stuff

How much room you have will also determine the amount of corals. Some can touch each other and some can't touch anything.

HELP to get rid of bristle worms!!

There are a few species that are bad but usually the ones we find in our tanks are beneficial. They are great scavengers and usually multiply because of overfeeding the tank and they take care of the excess. Unless they get close to the 10-12" range they do more to help than harm. You can use a...

    is this possible?

If your Ocellaris clowns were aquacultured it even makes it a little tougher, IMO. As spanko said it is up to each individual fish. Let me give you a real case example. Two ocellaris clowns hosting a BTA at the LFS. The pair and the BTA were all purchased together and put in the same bag. They...

Anemone Lighting Thread (Warning : Controversy!)

There is no controversy in this thread because you are trying to say they don't need light when in actuality all your statements prove they do need light. There is no such thing as a healthy white BTA. You were very lucky yours greened up and did as well as it did in such a short time frame...

    corals turning white...

PAR value of the lighting can cause issues. The only problem I have with that in this case is the clam and LTA look amazing and they need more intense lighting than the hammer or flowerpot corals. It would seem if it was a lighting issue they would be showing signs as well.%% Unless of...

    'Aggressive' Chromis?

They are very aggressive towards each other but not towards other fish species. It is very difficult to keep a group that size because of the attack among themselves. They will try to keep themselves in odd numbers which is how you started. Keeping them well fed does help but does not always...

Feeding my long tentacle anemone, i need some help?

Feeding it everyday is not good for the anemone especially two cubes. The anemone consumes more energy than it gains trying to expel all the waste. If your lighting is not very good than feed it two or three times a week but small pieces. If you have quality lighting then it will feed more from...
