That is normally the first thing people talk about is the clams.I have always thought they were beautiful and would love nothing more than to have a "clam tank".I also like to show them off let people see them through the tank then from the top where it magically changes colors.

More than anything I do believe you will have some severe heat issues with a 400 watter over that tank. Plus yes you could burn some corals placed to near the top.............but heat is gonna be your main problem.

You would have to be totally insane to put caulerpa profilera in your display tank,that crap would grow on everything and make your tank look like a total wreck,but to each his own! Check out the for sale forum I think once in a while some people put some for sale in there.

How about getting a good reliable test kit like a Salifert kit from here?Ofcourse you would need to order more than just 1 test kit to make whatever they charge for shipping worth it,just an idea for you to think about. Does that test kit have the readings for the ammonia in yellow by any chance...

To glue acrylic together you need a product called weld-on,I use weld-on #16 and #4.Water changes are'nt needed as often for a fo system as they are for a reef system.

I have never used that test kit but do you have a lfs you could take a water sample to and compare the results to what you are getting from your test kit that way you should have some kind of idea what your readings really are.?

If you have enough plant life in the overflow box it will absorb the bubbles and turn it into a special gas that will repair holes in the ozone. That way you would'nt have any problem's with flow through your u-tube. Most people keep algae in the fuge though,at least that's where I keep mine.
