I wouldn't dose anything that I couldn't check the levels on. If you're testing for these then dose per the directions until levels are satisfactory. Otherwise, you'll be over dosing, gauranteed!

After rereading your post you mentioned that the cup is filling with a lot of water. This would explain the bubbles. You have it turned up to high. Needs to be tuned down. Then it won't fill the cup with water or produce bubbles. It will however capture gunk over a period of time. Don't...

Salinity seems a little low to me.

That rock also has some green hair algea so I was going to take it out this weekend and scrub it anyway. I'll use some kalk paste too I guess.
