yes, they are. If you have a refugium you can grow them and they will filter over to your display. And for a mandarian you need to have very established tank with lots of LR.

The answer is no, inverts do not go by the inch per fish rule. You generally can have as many inverts as you want. But if you have to many and not enough food, then some would starve. And some inverts need certain size tanks to be healthy, because they have special diet needs, like say a linkia...

good morning campers! I was thinking about purchasing some of these for my tank. But I was curious about a few things. I have 2 peppermints, will they pick on this coral? I have heard that they will pick at star polyps. And for the most part will anything else pick on it, like any pygmy angels...

I have 2 as well and they are very nosy. It actually is a toss up between them and my cleaner shrimp. Both have to check out anything I put in the tank. And whenever I stick my hand in they all come over to see what's up.

I would get the 30-90 package. Look at the list. The only thing I would be concerned with is the feather dusters. Your tank is new and they are really sensitive to water conditions. The 50-100 package seems to be a bit large, but it is only $10 more. Either one would be fine.

It is either a "smasher" mantis or a pistol shrimp. You can stake out your tank at night and try to see the critter. If you have someting that will go over the lens of your flashlight to change the color, like red T-shirt, etc. then the light won't scare them away. HTH

I used argonite sand, about 2", and some small pieces of LR. It works fine. HTH

I had the tank running as a FOWLR for about a year. Then I upgraded the lights and started acquiring the corals. In all the tank has been up for about 2.8 yrs. It is addicting, now I want a bigger tank!!
