did you have the rock shipped or are you picking it up from lfs? if you had it shipped you will have to cure it. if you pick it up from the lfs and you trust them that they have cured it then it should be able to go into the tank.

i just leave about a softball size amount in when i prune. i wait to prune when my refugium is about 80% full.

my surface water is nice aand clear since i added my sump/refugium with the overflow. i still point one of my powerheads at the surface though because i undersized my overflow.

cut the pp shrimp down to 1 or 2. turbos if they are mexican turbos i would only get one or two they are big snails. stick with the scarlets and get rid of the red legs they are a bit aggressive. make sure your tank has completely cycled before you add any of them.
