Mag Drive Pump/Minimum size tubing Question

I just purchased a Mag/drive Supreme (model 1200) for my saltwater marine tank. The Mag Drive pump has 3/4" threaded intakes and outake ports. The manual states the *minimum* inner diameter size tubing for *maximum* flowrate is 1.5". I want to know if tubing that has an inner diameter less then...

Live rock in sump to decrease Nitrate question

Darn. That would be a good idea but I just added 4.5 lbs of live rock gravel to the sump and placed the excess bio-balls underwater in the overflow. I rinsed the phosphate sponge thoroughly before putting back in the system. I would also like to see if this is collecting and possibly leaching...

Live rock in sump to decrease Nitrate question

Hi. So far my amonia and nitrites are zero. I intend to gradually remove the bio balls and replace with live rock. I will completely submerge the live rock in the wet/dry filter by rasing the water level of the tank. I will take the excess bioballs and submerge them in the overflow for now...

Image: ? Closed Brain Coral Receeding

Wow that is an amazing pic of the Brain Coral feeding. Mine has 3-4 very small ports that open up...most of the meaty tissue reamains closed. It does swell up to where it hangs over the skeletal disk. It never fully opens like a plate with a mouth in the center. I am unsure but this may be the...

Image: ? Closed Brain Coral Receeding

I most definetly have good current and was especially carefull where I placed this specimen. There is flow but his flesh does not even ripple from it. I am unsure about spot feeding. What I have read is it is done at night/dark when this thing feeds. But I never see tenticles...if that is...

There is a condylatic anemone in the tank. I have since found that it needs much higher (intense) lighting requirements. I am purchasing a 250 MH pendent. The condylatic tenticles are bleaching. They are still well inflated and the footing is a consistant pink. Hopefully when I get the pendent...

Image: ? Closed Brain Coral Receeding

This Coral has been in my tank for about 3 weeks. It has a hard round disk underside. It is green and has started to recede on this one edge. I understand that these should be placed on the substrate but have heard of others sucessfully placing these in the rockwork. My water parameters are 0...

Hi. I did not use epoxy. I have 45 lbs of live rock. It may be hard to tell but their is 1 large piece in the center. A couple main pieces on the sides. I built up from there. I have a total of about 7-9 rocks. I cut out a pattern of my tanks bottom first. I then played around with the rock...

    Lost Perc to Power Outage

Sorry to hear. That is so sad. That is why I do not want to pair fish. It would make me feel worse then the fish...who probably misses someone to irritate. How the fish really feels about it is anybodies geuss. I think that type of clown is not aggressive and another one can be added to the...

5 week old 54 gallon new setup/ web pics

:scared: Thanks. This is sad. It is actually sick and is "translucent"...and I thought he was healthy. I am purchasing a 250 watt MH pendant. I will rig it some how with my current power compacts and hang both above the tank. ( It may be to late to save him) I have a corner tank with most of...
