I want to add air stones to my tank. It's 125gal aggressive. I noticed that I don't see many air stones in pictures of saltwater tanks. Why is this? I want to know the pros and cons of air stones. I also would want to know if you think I should add any to my tank.
I got my wet/dry from a friend that no longer has his tank running. I was new to the hobby and I thought that the filter was suitable for a 125gal tank, which he had and I also have. But browsing around I suddenly don't think that the filter is suitable.
Please help the measurments are...
I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I have a aggressive set-up with just a mappa Puffer for now. So the clean-up crew wouldn't work for me. I currently have 5 mexican turbos in there.
I need some solutions on how to maintain the waste accumulated in my tank from day to day. Each day I have to take the net and clean the substrate. Is there a way to avoid this if not avoid decrease it. I sure would like to hear some suggestions.
I noticed today that my wet/dry had suds in the top tray on the filter pad and a little in the bio balls. What's going on? I'm going to change the pad tomorrow since it's 2 A.M right now. Just want to hear some suggestions.
I have the pictures I don't know how to put them on here. I tried everyday for about a week then gave up. I'm going to try some more I'll let you guy know when.
Most people on this bb, including me don't agree on live food. There are alot of frozen foods to feed you puff. Brine, squid, krill(they love this stuff), beef hearts, prawn, and try to feed some greens such as spinach, algae etc.
Good luck
I've been feeding once a day for awhile now and it seems to be going well. I see so much waste on the sand every day it seems to me that I over feed sometimes. That's why I asked that question.
What can I add to the tank to get rid of all the waste so I wouldn't have to clean everyday? The...
Yes it scared me more than it hurt, because I always wondered how it felt to get bitten by him because of those sharp teeth of his. It was bleeding for awhile but I quickly cleaned the area. I took pictures of it, but I don't know how to upload the pictures onto this bb. No it didn't take a...
I'm trying to give my 7inch mappa puffer a stable amount of food per day. I feed him once a day, then every other day, and even tried twice a day. Know he's been eating everyday except Sunday. I can't seem to get a stable amount of food per day.
You guys know the portioned foods (cubed) lfs...
I was cleaning the waste from the sand today when all of a sudden my 7inch Mappa Puffer shot from one side of the tank to where I was working. It took him about a mega-second to get there. He then took a bite of my hand between the thumb and my pointer(web).
When I reacted by pulling my hand...
The rule is 1 inch per 5 gal. With the eel it's different because they tend to stay in there dens until feeding, so you don't need as much space just make sure you have a good place for them to hide.
I have a 125gal tank with 3" of sand, which has a coat of brown algae(detitrus). Currently I have a 7" mappa puffer in there. What kind of inverts can I use to get rid of this problem? Would the sand sifting stars work? I also have 6 Mexican snails working.
You add your fish from the least aggressive to the most aggressive.
I'll give it a shot: Kunare wrasse, Eel , Tusk, Humu Humu , then the Clown trigger.
I read that triggers shouldn't be mixed but with your size tank, it might be a different story. Hope I've helped!
It finally came and I must say I'm not disappointed. The transition went great and I love the new look.
Now I would like to know if it's alright to mix the l/s up with the existing sand? And if so how long should I wait to do this? I want to get a constent look and by me adding three...
