Do shrimp count as part of the bio load? I have heard they do not or that they dont produce as much waste as fish. Is this true? If I kept 6 shrimp (5 pepp, 1 cleaner) in a 5 gal tank for 3 to 4 weeks would the ammonia levels get very high? Are shrimp less sensitive to ammonia than fish?

My tank has only been up for a couple weeks and Im wondering how much ammonia will show up in a normal spike after adding new fish. Also how long should it take for my LS and LR to convert it all the way to nitrates?

I didnt use any soap, just warm water to flush out the tubes and stuff. The valve doesnt seem to be clogged anywhere and thats why Im confused on what the problem is.
