    Shrimp & Crab's together

I have heard that Coral Banded's tend to be territorial, and have been known to kill Snails in rare situations. I have a Cleaner in with my group, no one bothers anyone else. My cleaner shrimp actually cleans my giant hermit crab from time to time.

    Anybody use CC in Reef?

I could be wrong, but I think it is a bacteria issue. Bacteria seems to do better and multiply better in Sand. The bacteria assists in breakdown of wastes and a lot of other good things. I have CC under my LS.

    DT Phytoplankton use

I havent had any problems with DT, however, I only add a cap full once a week. I had a bad Brown bloom a month ago, dont think it was related to the plankton though.

Reef tank w/ no undergravel plate

Now now, play nice! U can also get a cheap wavemaker plug and use three powerheads to simulate wave action. A lot of corals like this more natural movement.

    live rock on substrate

I placed dead rock, or base rock, in my tank first, then placed the more expensive live rock on top of that, the live rock will eventually seed the base rock anyhow. I dont like the PVC because it makes a dead space for detrius to build up in.

    Any help would be nice...

Hi Josh, I have a hex tank, it sits in the spare room because it leaks like crazy. I fix it and not long after it will leak again. They are kind of hard to do a reef in also, but I did see one with LR in the center and you could see coral all the way around as it was placed in the center of the...

A LFS here has three of them in stock, keeps em in the back room for "Special" customers. I want one badly but dont want to start another tank just for him. And I certainly dont want to pay $425.00 for one.

    ? on lights and corals...

Some corals dont like a lot of light, like Sun Polyps, but I think all of yours can handle the light, and most likely will thrive with more light time.

    Mushroom Corals

Jackson, Was quoting from "Practical guide to Corals" Written by Ed Puterbaugh and Eric Borneman when calling them anemonies. Genus Discosoma and Actinodiscus are the genera that compromise the Mushroom Anemonies. I tend to read too much, and could very well be quoting an incorrect text.

    itty bitty bugs

Copepods usually come in on liverock or in livesand. They are so small you can even get them when you buy a piece of coral and not even know it. I seeded my new tank with a cup of sand from my old, and the copepods bred very quickly and are at high concentrations in my tank.

    Mushroom Corals

The only Mushrooms I know of are actually Anemonies, and they are very easy and do not require much care.

The Real deal on bristleworms--too many still safe?

I have an Aarow crab who adores Bristleworms. I see him often searching through the sand and looking under rocks for them. When he finds them he consumes them, sometimes it takes him a day or two but he leaves nothing.
