Another shot.. This is recent a Big change in the tank MH of course. My lighting now is Dual 250 watt HQI double ended MH with 10k Ushio bulbs and dual 110 VHO atinics.

The PC just looked so dull not plain and with 6 months i hardly got any growth.. On the other hand ive got just a little over 8 months with the MH and its been amazing. This is the same cup coarl as seen above under MH

ok here goes a few upgrade pics bear with me theres som time between them so more coral and more growth on existing coral also more rock.. The tank started out with 4X65 PC 10k/6500 atinics i just wasnt happy , nor was my coral.

I cut the cycle down to 5 hrs of of MH and 12 of atinics for a couple weeks and started with most my corals in shaderspots then moved them up as time went

Bio balls will kill coral so id recomend taking them out. Also if you use a foam mesh skirt like what comes on your pumps and filters to place over your pipe that works the best and helps prefilter the major stuff going into you sump and kills the splashing and noise.

Perhaps diatom algea.. its not a good thing but its not the end of the work it come in a reddish and greenish color. ive had it off and on in my tank as have everyone else for the most part, if thats what it is. Happens from waste not getting cleaned usually in low circulated areas. A pic would...

I would make sure your pump is the correct size .. if its not pushing enough water through it leaves room for air to get pocketed in the pipes. also it could be a bad pump , or constricted flow in a pipe. Or possibly too much pipe for the pump to handle. Is your overflow keeping up with the...

Depends on What you are going to have in it .. If its going to be a mini reef you can never have too much Flow although i would recomend a fuge/sump.

I have a red sea prizm on my 55 Flower tank and it has worked just fine for over a year now. On my 95 gallon reef i use an in sump aqua clear skimmer and like that one a lot more, less to mess with. The red sea is still a nice one for less money.

I'm imagining that any 250 watt ballist will ork on whatever mogul socket you put it on as long as its not HQI . Best bet would be to ask the guys in the supply house since they deal with it all the time or catch an electrician thats comming in for parts and ask. They would know the best and...
